This year ArtsFest is part of the Urban Fusion project. Urban Fusion is a programme of work funded by the Arts Council and the Millennium Commission. The Urban Fusion programme covers six key themes around music, poetry and literature, city regeneration, cultural diversity, visual arts and the celebration of talent. |
Infirmary is a short dance film created entirely on location inside the now abandoned Royal Infirmary in Worcester. Made by local filmmaker, Matt Dukes and starring Worcester based dance company Angel Dance Co La, the film fuses emotive dance, film and sound to reveal the essence of a building in its deserted state of emptiness. It is a powerful and absorbing journey that responds to the rawness of long empty corridors, vast foreboding hospital wards and intimate, concealed spaces. All the artists involved in the production of the film are from Worcestershire including the filmmaker, dancers, costume designer, musician and poet. Infirmary has been presented at various events, performances and festivals since its premiere in March this year, including three screenings during the Worcester Festival where it received great acclaim from audiences and organisers alike. | | | last updated: 07/09/05 | | SEE ALSO
