Ahead of the elections for the Ministers of Departments the new Chief Minister Lyndon Trott announced his nominations. Commerce and Employment - Jack Honeybill This list includes three members of the former Policy Council with Dave Jones and Geoff Mahy being proposed for their former roles and Peter Sirett moving from Culture and Leisure to Environment. There were bound to be changes with five ministers not standing for re-election. Of the ten nominated only four, Hunter Adam, Mark Dorey, Dave Jones and Geoff Mahy were serving on the departments at the dissolution of the last States. All but one of those nominated were standing deputies with Carol Steere, who has served previously in the States, being the exception. This announcement has come ahead of the ministerial elections which will be held on Tuesday 6 May. At that meeting other members of the States can be nominated for each position with a vote to follow. In breaking from the protocol observed in the two previous such elections Deputy Trott said, "I am pleased to announce my nominations in advance of Tuesday's States meeting. I do this in the spirit of openness which I hope to foster in the coming months." "I also believe that it is important that all members of the States of Deliberation have the maximum time to reflect on my choices," he added.
