Originally a group of 4 loose friends inspired by bands such as My Chemical Romance, Funeral For A Friend, and Senses Fail, they decided to form a band that would play the songs that they enjoyed. The Escape Fall was formed, comprising of bassist James Le Tissier, guitarist Jon Degnen, singer and backing guitarist Ben Wilson, and drummer Ollie Denton. The band practiced covers and experimented with original songs up until the 6th of January 2006, when they played their first gig to a small audience at a private party. ![]() Ollie. The band soon got in touch with gig organisers Discharge, and played some gigs at The Hockey Club and The Bowl. They then took time out to write more originals, such as Burning The Midnight. The band decided that they would like to improve their sound, so began to search for a new singer, eventually finding Sam Meader, the newest addition to The Escape Fall, transforming the band into a 5 piece. Between September 2007 and March 2008 the band recorded their debut album, 'Let's Hope They Hear This', which was released on the same day as they the inaugural Guernsey Live festival on 3 May 2008. The FutureThey are planning on doing more local gigs, and are going to keep writing songs that they enjoy. However they expect the band to come to an end by September 2008 as they all leave the island for further education. Their Favourite Gig"Our favourite gig so far would have to be when we played at the Hockey Club on the 10th of March 06 with the Mid Carson Coalition and Better Late Than Never. "It was our second gig, and the Hockey Club was full with people. We were the first band on, and it was really exciting to play in front of such a large crowd."
