Older learners have a wealth of courses to choose from in the county

There are a number of different colleges and organisations that address all aspects of learning in the community. Whether you are a school leaver or a pensioner there are courses throughout the county that will appeal to you.

ACET or Adult Continuing Education and Training helps thousands of adults in Gloucestershire take their very first steps into a new world of learning.

The organisation works with older learners, people with special needs, unemployed people, families, people living in rural areas and people living in towns providing them with a bridge to further and higher education.

Learning and Skills Council

The Learning and Skills Council (LSC) is responsible for funding and planning education and training for over 16-year-olds in England.

Modern apprenticeships allow young people to earn while they learn

The current LSC campaign for modern apprenticeships focuses on the growing need in the UK for skilled workers.

Modern apprenticeships provide young people between the ages of 16-24 with the opportunity to 'Earn While You Learn' and last between one and three years.

REAL WORK REAL PAY is the name of the LSC campaign to encourage young people and employers to take up this challenge.
