On Saturday 22 July 2006, the BBC (in partnership with Arts Council England) is attempting to break the world record for the greatest number of people to participate in a dance class simultaneously. All around the country, people will be taking part in the dance class, which will only last for ten minutes, and start at 12:30pm. This is your chance to take part, because we will be hosting our dance class right here in Gloucester at GL1. People of all ages are welcome, and you don't need to be a good dancer to take part. We’ll also provide tuition before the record attempt, dance workshops and exhibitions. On the day, keep your eyes peeled for your favourite BBC Radio Gloucestershire presenters as well as local dignitaries and celebrities. How do you register for this free event?Simply fill in the form below to register. Because this is a world record we are going for, Guinness World Records require your signature as proof of your participation. You'll be asked to fill in a form when you arrive. Our registration desks will be open between between 10 am and 11:30am. Between now and 22nd July, BBC Radio Gloucestershire will be featuring the build-up to The Big Dance Class. Tune in on 104.7FM, 95FM (Stroud), 95.8FM (Cirencester) and 1413AM (Forest of Dean & North Cotswolds). Alternatively you can Listen Live via this website. More details are available by calling the Action Desk on 01452 33 11 33. After the record attempt at GL1, make sure you watch "Dancing In The Street” with Bruce Forsyth on BBC One. It will be broadcast on the evening of 22nd July 2006, and will include coverage of 'The Big Dance Class'. That’s when you’ll find out if your world record attempt was successful! |
