| Hello, I'm Sophie Bonner but I answer to many others such as Dofie, Bonn, Fruitcake, Sofiella and many more too tedious to mention... About me... I'm 17, going to be 18 half way through this project. However, you wouldn't think so from my behaviour! For example, I have an inability to eat with the correct table manners, instead eating more like a pig from its trough. Also, the fact that I'm technologically astute, yet still have my moments, such as regularly sending text messages accidentally to the wrong person
that person being the one I'd least want to receive the message
very embarrassing! Oh
and "sleeping with the light on"... *Breaks out into the Busted song*
On the plus side, I'm just a regular 17 year old. I've recently left the sixth form at 'The High School for Girls' and I'm nervously waiting for my A level results. I hope to go to Cardiff University in September to study Politics and Philosophy. Interests Music and lots of it! I'm mainly into rock/alternative stuff like Incubus, Radiohead, Queens of the Stone Age, Nirvana, Silverchair
and many more! I like spending lots of my time at gigs all around the place. However, dare I reveal, I'm a closet Busted and McFly fan, Oh dear, that's not so secret now
ahh well. I also enjoy singing, reading, writing, going to the gym and playing the guitar. I've been playing the guitar for a few years now and enjoy writing songs with my brother. However, despite trying to live a rock and roll lifestyle, I have an altered ego, like that of Elizabeth Bennett from 'Pride and Prejudice.' I adore the perfect lifestyle, pretty clothes, romance and going for long walks and having picnics. About Blast I got involved in the Blast project because I've always wanted to be a journalist. I'm especially interested in the Arts, so this was a perfect combination as I'd be able to report on lots of stuff I was interested in, such as music, dance and drama. As I've been involved in lots of Arty stuff around Gloucestershire, I know how important it is for teenagers to get involved in these kinds of activities and know where to go to catch the best shows, whether it be gigs or art exhibitions. I felt the Blast project would be a fantastic experience for me and that it would give me something useful and interesting to do in my long summer holiday. It's also an opportunity you can't turn down
eight weeks work experience at the BBC, I'd be mental to turn such an experience down! I've already learnt so much already and have made friends with some of the other lovely Blast reporters. Coming soon... I'll be reporting on loads of different things, I'm going to try and get a good mix so there's something for everyone! I have an interview with a local young photographer lined up, reviews of gigs and local bands, dance and music companies you can get involved with and many more cool things. Check out the website every week to see the different things I've been writing about and if you have any ideas of Gloucestershire arty things I can write about, send them to me via e-mail by clicking here.
