Consisting of Jack Patterson (bass, guitar, keyboard), Luke Patterson (drums), Grace Chatto (cello) and Milan Neil Amin-Smith (violin), Clean Bandit were formed in the prestigious Jesus College at the University of Cambridge.
The group are known for their distinctive merging of electronic and classical music, a sound which initially saw them rebuffed by labels during their early years.
Despite being formed in 2006, it wasn’t until 2012 that the group released their debut single, “A+E”. Despite barely breaking the Top 100, regular airplay increased the attention on the band to such a level that their following single hit the top twenty. Their fourth single, “Rather Be”, featured Jess Glyne hitting the number one spot.
Their debut album New Eyes is due to be released mid-2014 and will be followed by their first ever headline tour. No need for binoculars, these classical maestros are already big.
