Kathleen Anne Brien, better known as Katy B, is a English singer and songwriter who fuses pop, dubstep, r&b and UK garage into chart stomping hits.
Born in London, and a BRIT School alumni, Brien is the daughter of David O’Brien, one of the members of Les Humphries Singers who represented Germany at the Eurovision song contest in 1976.
Katy B made a name for herself on the London scene featuring on tracks long before the release of her own material. Her debut album, On a Mission, was released in 2011 on Rinse records, fostered by her partnership with producer and Rinse founder Geeneus. The album was critically acclaimed, noted for its thrilling, original and bold mix of songwriting honesty and contemporary urban UK-tinged sound production.
Her second album, Little Red, was released in February of 2014. Like its predecessor, the album was met with exceptional praise by critics and fans alike, peaking at number one in the UK albums charts.
