Maxïmo Park are a rock band originating from Newcastle, England, consisting of Paul Smith, Duncan Lloyd, Archis Tiku, Lukas Wooler and Tom English.

Named after a park in Miami, the band formed in early 2001 and became a forerunner in the burgeoning UK indie scene that was making a resurgence in the mid-naughties.

Their critically acclaimed debut album A Certain Trigger, released on the renowned Warp label, went Platinum in the UK selling over 300,000 copies at home and an additional 200,000 abroad. The album was nominated for the 2005 Mercury Prize and was responsible for spawning the UK indie classics “Apply Some Pressure” and “Graffiti”.
