In a week where Shakira caused a stir over her tour merch bearing a resemblance to Nazi imagery, Kanye (above) insisted he 'never said slavery was a choice' and we had the highs and lows of the Isle White Festival, there is almost too much to choose from.

    Yet, here we are.

So let's crack on, you'll notice number one comes in two parts.

    Don't be scared.

    Childish GambinoImage source, Getty Images

    1) Childish Gambino stands accused of borrowing music for This Is America

Donald Glover - aka Childish Gambino - who is perform at the Wireless Festival in London next month has also been accused of "stealing" another rapper's song for his hit single, This Is America.

Internet sleuths uncovered American Pharoah, a 2016 track by Jase Harley, and said it had uncanny similarities to Glover's song - which more than 307m views on YouTube.

Both feature dark lyrics about black America over a menacing beat, while Harley and Glover share a similar cadence in their delivery.

Responding to fans on Instagram, external, a relaxed Harley said he was "glad if my record influenced his".

“A shout out would be cool," he added. "All good tho... he’s a great artist, dope I could’ve had some influence on the record."

1b) ...but his manager totally denies it

In a tweet that's since been deleted, Gambino's manager, Fam Rothstein, appeared to claim This is America is at least a year older than American Pharaoh - the 2016 song on which some bloggers say the smash hit has been based.

Rothstein's deleted tweet - screen-grabbed by some sites - said: "This song is three years old and we have Pro Tools [music editing software] files to prove it."

Another deleted tweet posted from his account a few minutes later appears to say his words should be taken as an official "comment from the label".

    2) Wireless is getting an all-women stage

The Wireless Festival in London is hosting an all-female stage next month following criticism over the lack of women in the original line-up.

When the first 37 artists were announced in January - only three were women including Mabel (pictured above), and Lisa Mercedez.

Now more than 25 female artists will appear on an alternative stage.

"Shame it's a response to something negative, but it's 100% positive and progressive," says DJ Emerald, who is one of the acts performing.

Bad Gyal, Paigey Cakey and Barely Legal are among some of the other confirmed artists.

    3) The Kinks are getting back together

And we've got the Rolling Stones to thank

Sir Ray Davies, the singer-songwriter and creative powerhouse behind the iconic London band has told Channel 4 news The Kinks are getting back together to make a new record... after they've had a pint that is.

Sir Ray said he was "inspired" by the success of the Stones' current tour.

The Kinks recorded some of the most famous songs of the 1960s and 70s, including You Really Got Me and Waterloo Sunset.

But Sir Ray and his brother Dave had a famously fractious relationship and the band split more than 20 years ago.

Ray, who took a call from the band's original drummer Mick Ivory during the interview said he could confirm "The Kinks are getting back together... in the pub at least."

    4) Dolly Parton is not above a crude gag

The US country legend has been named, alongside the likes of Pink and Michael Buble, in the Hollywood Hall of Fame class of 2019.

She becomes the first female this century to have their name etched on the famous walkway twice, after having previously received the honour back in 1984.

"I like to do things in pairs - if you know what I mean?" said Dolly (above).

We always know what you mean Doll.

The 72-year-old - who is godmother to Miley Cyrus - was also pleased to find the names of her pals Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt - aka "the trio" - on the list too.

Fellow star Carrie Underwood described Dolly as a "trailblazer and inspiration."

    5) Kendrick Lamar has tried to settle the N-word debate

The Compton rapper made the news last month when he stopped a white fan in her tracks after inviting her to join him onstage - because she repeatedly used the N-word while rapping to the opening lines to his track m.A.A.d. City.

The fan in question, known as Delaney, was booed by many in the crowd at Hangout Festival in Alabama, after Kendrick told her: "You gotta bleep one single word."

Others, however, felt she might have been dealt with somewhat harshly given the context of the hip hop gig.

Now Ken has been speaking about the topic to Vanity Fair and suggested white people will simply have to take this one on the chin.

"Let me put it to you in its simplest form. I’ve been on this earth for 30 years, and there’s been so many things a Caucasian person said I couldn’t do. Get good credit, " he said

    Quote Message

Jason joined Radio 2 breakfast show host Chris Evans this morning ahead of the release of his new album, Know, which is out in August.

Fifteen years ago when he was just cutting his musical teeth, the US singer/songwriter supported the legendary Tracy Chapman on a UK tour and recalled how great an inspiration it had been.

"I think the best part of it was getting to sit and watch Tracy Chapman soundcheck for three hours before every show," he said.

"The real love of music showed."

It's that time of day where perhaps energy is starting to flag so if you're getting some lunch into yourself, then maybe kick back with a couple of new music videos.

The first, Solara, comes from Smashing Pumpkins and is not about a popular ice lolly.

Instead it sees bandmembers Billy Corgan, Jimmy Chamberlain and James Iha in some kind of surreal, nightmarish prison or hospital or research facility.

We're not sure which but it's well creepy.

If that's not to your taste, then there's the latest from Stranger Things actor Finn Wolfhard's Canadian teenage indie kids Calpurnia.

So Damon Albarn might not like him but even he'd have to admit Kanye has been pretty busy in 2018.

So far we've seen a solo album, followed by a collab with Kid Cudi and production work on records by Nas, Pusha-T and Teyana Taylor.

(Fun Fact: They all contain seven tracks, possibly alluding to the Bible's seven deadly sins, external).

Next up is apparently fellow Chicagoan hip hop star Chance.

In a new interview with Complex, external, Chance said: "I’m going to do a seven-track with Ye.”

He went on to confirm he's also "actively working" on a longer project with Childish Gambino.

"We’ve got six songs that are all fire, but I think the album is going to be more than 14 songs.”

The pair recently performed Gambino's internet-breaking hit This Is America, during an open mic event in Chicago.

Now, Lewis who counts Xtina as a pal (and used to date Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger) has been questioned directly about the stories ahead of the Austrian Grand Prix.

"My sole goal right now and focus is fully Formula One," he told Reuters,

The 33-year-old four-time world champion added: “It’s not really something I want to speak about, I’m here really to talk and focus solely on trying to win this championships and that’s really where all my energy is at the moment."

Most definitely no then... a firm no then, and when pressed on that, he added: “I don’t really know what to say.”

The singer's manager has a written a strongly worded riposte to the news Manchester DJ Dave Haslam has organised a demonstration close by a Morrissey gig in

The Guardian reported former fans of the Smiths frontman are staging the "friendly protest" party at the same time as his show at the city's Castlefield Bowl on 8 July.

It follows his increasingly incendiary political comments, including his support for English Defence League leader Tommy Robinson - who was recently jailed after being found in contempt of court - and right wing For Britain founder Anne Marie Waters.

Now, writing on Facebook, Peter Katsis of Deckstar Management says: "Former Morrissey fans have not organised anything.

"That 'Has-Been Haslam' character was never a Morrissey fan. And his agenda, stated as using music to spread peace, could not be any further from the truth.

Katsis insists: "We are in the business of creating music and performing music. We are actually not in the business of politics".

Ed Sheeran is being sued for another $100m (£76.4m) for allegedly copying parts of Marvin Gaye's Let's Get It On on his chart-topping hit Thinking Out Loud.

Legal documents filed in the US allege it copies "the melody, rhythms, harmonies, drums, bass line, backing chorus, tempo, syncopation and looping".

Ed is already faced legal action over the track.

The latest action has been filed by a company called Structured Asset Sales - which owns a third of the copyright of Gaye's song, co-written with US singer Edward Townsend.

First up today, Florence + the Machine is back with her fourth album, High as Hope.

So far, we've heard two new tracks, Sky Full of Song and Hunger from the record.

You can watch her performing the latter track at the BBC's Biggest Weekend in Swansea above.

The 2016 Glastonbury headliner popped in to chat to 6 Music's Steve Lamacq and told the DJ about her eccentric on-stage persona.

Florence said: "It's weird, you're the most visible that you could be but at the same time you're actively trying to sort of disappear.

"If you get to a moment were you feel a complete loss of self in the performance - that's it."

    Listen below.

The singer even penned a special poem for fans to mark that release, thanking them for all the years of "singing, dancing, embracing each other."

She signed off by urging them all to "hold on to each other", in bright red letter.
