She's getting ready for her upcoming tour and that apparently involves choreography, which it seems she's practicing with the aid of her cat.

Taylor's posted this pic of kitty Olivier Benson (to give her her full name) on Instagram, entitled: "We are all stretching to prep for that tour choreo."

Today marks the 13th in our Newbie Tuesday series, which might have been considered an unlucky slot by many up and coming Western musicians.

It's by happy co-incidence then perhaps that this week's new act are Palestinian Jordanians.

47 Soul, external released their new album Balfron Promise on Friday and kicked off their UK tour with a "magical" sold-out show to a multi-cultural crowd at London's Jazz Cafe.

The self-appointed kings of 'Shamstep' are determined to change perceptions about what is possible for modern musicians from the Arab world and to give their native land a new voice on the world stage.

Or as MC Tareq Kwaik - aka El Far3i - boldy states:

"The challenge of borders triggered the idea behind 47 Soul" adds Hamza Arnaout - aka El Jehaz - of the collective, who began life in Amman, Jordan in 2013, after meeting online.

Tareq continues: "On the alternative Arabic scene, when there a musician from a town you can't go to, this is how you hear it and connect with each other."

The band, who sing in both Arabic and English, have been based in London for three years now and have already enjoyed playing a variety of stages big and small for the "energetic zombies, just like us" at Glastonbury in 2015/16, as well as performing at WOMAD.

Their new album references a tower block in east London, which became home for a short while, after unused flats were offered to artists, to replace evicted tenants.

The similarities between the name and that of the Balfour Declaration, issued by the British government during the First World War, as well as what's happening in their homeland proving too tempting to resist.

"The amount of oppression from where we are from is hard to comprehend" says Tareq.

"I'm an Arabic Mc and I did not face anything heavy for my lyrics. People always say 'how did you manage that?'

"It's always a worry."

Hamza explans: "There are so many layers and invisible borders for artists in our area of the world.

Last year was all about Latino pop and everyone from Justin Bieber to Little Mix wanted to be heard on a Hispanic sounding track.

So can 47 Soul, who note the Arabic influence on samples from the likes of Jay-Z, external and Chemical Brothers, external, help 2018 be the year of the crossover Middle Eastern hit?

Hamsa confesses: "I really wish we can do for Palestine what Despacito, external did for Puerto Rico.

"If you read the news the economy increase 20% due to tourism from one music video.

Both musicians express their "disappointment" in Radiohead and Nick Cave for disgregarding UK Artists for Palestine's cultural boycott of neighbouring Israel to play gigs in Tel Aviv, while underlining their "huge respect" for Lorde for doing the opposite.

And while the ongoing troubles in the region they are from undoubtedly flavours their music, Tareq is keen to stress that their intention is to make you move, first.

And then maybe think, second.

"[Middle Eastern politics] is not the subject of our songs. It's the seasoning and flavour.

"If I'm to write something that I love musically and lyrically, then that is the point.

"If it later became a chant for the people that would be amazing but that's not the goal.

"I don't want to play that card - I just want to make people dance!"

People like the good folk of Manchester this Friday night.

The Chainsmokers have posted a behind the scenes film from their video for Sick Boy.

The promo has had 50 million views on Youtube and now they've shown how it was put together.

Drew Taggart says; "It's a song that means a lot to us and where we've come as artists ... a really important moment in our careers."

We showed you last week the hologram of Roy Orbison which is set to go out on tour - well now it's been announced that Frank Zappa is also going to get the hologram treatment.

Production for the live Zappa hologram shows will start later this year, with performances announced later in 2018.

His son Ahmet Zappa says hologram Zappa will play his most well-known music as well as some rare and unheard material.

The Aussie psych disco-rockers - led by Kevin Parker (above) - are set to headline this year's Citadel Festival that will take place in London's Gunnersbury Park on Sunday 15 July.

It's TI's first London show in two years and is apparently a UK exclusive.

Willie Nelson has had to cancel all his live dates in February as he needs more time to recover from the flu.

The 84-year-old had already missed out on some dates in January.

Rolling Stone report, external he needs "a few extra weeks to recover completely."

They say Nelson is moving about and looking "healthy as ever," but is under doctor's orders to rest his voice.

His next scheduled date is 5 March in Greenville, South Carolina.

Drizzy has sent US students into a tiz while shooting the music video for his new track God's Plan at Miami Senior High.

As well as letting the gathered masses star in his video, the Canadian singer also announced that he'll supply the school with new uniforms, by way of thanks.

Rapper Meek Mill has given his response from jail to his team; the Philadelphia Eagles, winning the Super Bowl.

The team came out on the pitch to his song Dreams and Nightmares and also sang and danced to it in the locker room after their win.

The rapper who is from Philly gave his statement to NBC's John Clark who posted it on Instagram, external.

Meek is in jail for violating the terms of his probation and was sentenced to two to four years in prison in November.

Jay Z is among the stars who have protested his sentence, saying it's too harsh.

"Baby, stop wasting your time / I know what's on your mind / I won't be satisfied with a one-night stand / and I could never take the place of your man / but I'll try, but I'll sure as hell try."

The lyrics are estimated to go for $10,000, so we hope you have deep pockets Prince fans.

Beyonce's dad reckons her music career has been boosted by her being a light skinned black woman.

He's given an interview with Ebony magazine, external where he discusses his book Racism: From the Eyes of a Child.

He talks about his experiences of race growing up in the deep South and admits he thought his former wife and mum to Beyonce Tina Knowles Lawson was white when he first met her.

Mathew, who managed Beyonce's career until 2011, was asked how colourism affects aspiring artists when they are looking for mainstream acceptance.

"When it comes to Black females, who are the people who get their music played on pop radio? Mariah Carey, Rihanna, the female rapper Nicki Minaj, my kids [Beyonce and Solange], and what do they all have in common?"

Reporter: "They’re all lighter skinned."

"Do you think that’s an accident?"

"Of course not!"

"So you get it!"

The festival at London's Southbank Centre is celebrating it's 25th year from 15-24 June 2018.

This year's event will also be the first major festival to take place across the whole Southbank Centre site, making use of the newly re-opened Queen Elizabeth Hall and Purcell Room after two years of refurbishment.

Robert says he's honoured to be following in the footsteps of previous curators including David Bowie, Nick Cave, Patti Smith, Massive Attack, Ray Davies, Yoko Ono, David Byrne and last year's curator MIA.

If it wasn't already abundantly clear who the message was aimed at then check out Fiona's T-shirt (above), which references Grammys president Neil Portnow, who said women needed to "step up" at next year's awards.

At last month's awards in New York, Alessia Cara was the only female artist to win a major award, while Lorde - the only female nominated for album of the year - was not invited to perform solo, like the other nominees.

This was in spite of many artists wearing white roses in support of #TimesUp and #MeToo campaigns, which help victims of sexual harassment.

Elsewhere, in a joint letter to the Academy, six top female music industry execs have described the organisation as "woefully out of touch".

This latest move comes after stars like Pink and Kelly Clarkson had criticised the president and some had called for him to resign.

The letter said:

To cheer up Justin Timberlake after the 'Meh personified' review for his Super Bowl performance is the news that his sales rocketed after the show.

Billboard report, external he had a 534% sales gain.

The biggest seller among all of the songs he performed was Can’t Stop the Feeling! which he closed the show with - it sold nearly 8,000 downloads - up 482 percent from 1,000 sold a day earlier.

His second biggest seller was Filthy, the lead single from his new album Man of the Woods.

Handy as that's the album he's trying to promote at the mo.

Bruno Mars has been telling the NFL who he wants to see play at next years Super Bowl in Atlanta and he's hoping for a celebration of hip-hop.

He even offers a list of acts in a series of tweets.

We reckon they should snap his hand off, as judging by the picture above Bruno knows how to put on a Super Bowl half-time show. He got Beyonce and Chris Martin involved when he performed at the 'greatest show on earth' in 2016.
