Right then, we are out of here.

Best of luck with your A-Level results guys.

Time for us to go and find out if we passed the Music News LIVE test today. We feel our answers on Dolly Parton's children book and additions to the We Are Manchester lineup were fairly good.

The new music video posts from LCD Soundsystem, Lorde, QOTSA and Rudimental were strong - and the Bonnie Tyler entry was surely a hit.

You never can tell though. Best not to worry about it, isn't it?

Scroll down for a Throwback Thursday to end all #TBT's from 400 years ago (that's really throwing it back!) courtesy of PJ Harvey. Like Polly Jean and 6 Music we're off to the Green Man festival, so more on that tomorrow and Monday.

The big hand claps at the start of her track above go out today to everyone and anyone who tried their best with their college work/exams.

Don't stress too much about the results though and remember:

Life is like a wheel. Sooner or later, everything comes back around.

  2. Go On The Road with Wolf Alicepublished at 15:44 BST 17 August 2017

    Ellie Rowsell of Wolf Alice

A preview of the forthcoming Wolf Alice tour documentary has appeared online.

The Michael Winterbottom (The Trip & 24 Hour Party People) production On The Road follows the west London band on their tour in support of debut album My Love Is Cool last year.

The real life tour diary is intertwined with a fictional love story between a made up member of the managerial team called Estelle and Joe; an equally fictitious member of the crew.

That's the fourth wall firmly smashed in.

Singer Ellie Rowsell admits to a radio journo in a moment of weakness that life on the road can be tough.

"Not really ever going home is the biggest change I suppose" she said.

    "It's quite hard."

Well Ellie if you've studied harder with those A-Levels you could stop all this rock 'n' roll nonsense and get yourself a real job.

The film is coming soon but you can sneak a peak below.

  3. Iron Maiden launch first ever comic book seriespublished at 15:25 BST 17 August 2017

Iron Maiden: Legacy Of The Beast,Image source, Iron Maiden

You've got the album, seen the live show, played the video game and now you can read the book as Iron Maiden launch their first ever official comic book series.

The new comic books, which see the band partner with US science fiction publishers Heavy Metal Publishing, are apparently based on their mobile role playing game, Iron Maiden: Legacy Of The Beast, where players assume the identity of their mascot Eddie.

The first of five issues will go on sale on 11 October.

Heavy Metal's Jeff Krelitz said: “As a lifelong fan of Iron Maiden, it is a privilege to publish the first official comic giving a narrative to their iconic mascot, Eddie."

Good to see that after 37 years in the showbiz spotlight, Eddie has yet resisted the lure of the surgeon's knife.

'Lit has been a slang term meaning 'intoxicated' for over a century. More recently, it has acquired the meaning 'exciting', as well as a broader meaning along the lines of 'excellent.' - Merriam-Webster.

It's also the name of Steve Aoki's latest track, featuring Gucci Mane and T-Pain and you can watch the new video below.

Just a little warning, there are quite a lot of the swears but they have been muted.

  5. Pink: I haven’t been fired out of a cannon yetpublished at 15:14 BST 17 August 2017

    Media caption,

Nerve-racking, and not to mention a health and safety nightmare.

Pink was on the Radio 1 brekkie show today talking Grimmers through her backstage routine ahead of her headline slot at V Festival this weekend.

Her main concerns these days appear to be locating her child and remembering the setlist, though she's adamant that she can still party and pull-off a memorable stage entrance.

Just don’t expect to see her flying out of a cannon anytime soon though...

We love a bit of classic dance music played by an orchestra and there's nothing better than a French orchestra playing some dance music by a French act.

Les Siècles and conductor François-Xavier Roth performed at the Royal Albert Hall on Wednesday night and closed their show with a bit of Daft Punk.

The good news is that Noah Cyrus, Purity Ring, Carly Rae Jepsen are joining the North America leg of Purpose tour.

The bad news is that some dates have been re-scheduled due to "unavoidable production delays".

Wonder if the education board would accept that as a reason for not turning up for exams. Probably not.

Don't ever say that Lorde doesn't do enough for her fans, she has just shared six new performance videos of reimagined tracks from her recent album Melodrama.

The stripped-back renditions were filmed at New York's Electric Lady Studios, where she recorded the album.

She said: "I don't really do acoustic sessions or anything, but with this record, it had roots in acoustic instruments, in live musicianship.

"I think when you start to strip a song back, you really come back to this place of where you were building it."

In the performance above, she channels her inner Kate Bush for Writer in the Dark, accompanied by her album producer Jack Antonoff and an all-female string section.

  13. Bonnie Tyler to do literal performance of Total Eclipse...published at 12:31 BST 17 August 2017

    Bonnie Tyler

It's a big day for fans of eclipses, cruise ships, Bonnie Tyler and members of the Jonas Brothers.

Glorious news has reached us that Bonnie Tyler is going to perform her 1983 hit Total Eclipse of the Heart.

    1. On a cruise ship.
    2. During a total eclipse.
    3. With one of the Jonas brothers.

    Amazing.

The eclipse will take place on 21 August and last for around two minutes and 40 seconds.

Tyler will perform (a presumably shorter version of) the song while the eclipse is taking place.

The ship - or the Royal Caribbean's Total Eclipse Cruise - will be positioned in the path of totality for the critical moment.

Let's hope the sky will be clearer than it has been in the UK this month.

"It's going to be so exciting, it doesn't happen very often, does it?" observed Tyler when she spoke to Time magazine, external.

You're not wrong Bonnie. On average once every 375 years in any given place.

Nothing more we can say really...but Total Eclipse of the Heart.
