Its intention is to facilitate "a dynamic music education and to teach beginning and accomplished musicians of all skill levels."

"I was so disheartened. I was like, 'Where's the orchestra? Where's the band?' And I was told they cut out all the funding for that stuff. They didn't have instruments for the teachers anymore. It really shocked me."

That's the bad news for Pina Colada fans that we warned you about earlier.

Pineapples have appeared on a list of items banned from this year's Reading and Leeds Festivals, alongside fireworks and weapons.

And do you want to know to blame for this ruling?

    These guys...

    Glass AnimalsImage source, PA

Organisers said it was because fans of Oxford indie band Glass Animals bring hundreds of the fruit to its gigs, in a nod to song Pork Soda which includes the lyrics "pineapples are in my head".

Drummer Joe Seaward said it would be a "challenge" to get in with pineapples.

"Anyone who wasn't bringing a pineapple definitely is now," he said.

"It's fruitist. Watermelons are fine, but not pineapples?"

Fruitism within the music industry? Whatever next...

A spokesman for Reading and Leeds Festivals told the BBC: "Organisers were a little concerned about hundreds of pineapples turning up on site so decided to ask fans not to bring them along."

He added: "The tongue may be slightly in cheek on this one."

  20. Taylor Swift wins assault case against DJpublished at 09:36 BST 15 August 2017

    Taylor SwiftImage source, Getty Images

First up today is the news that Taylor Swift has won her sexual assault case against ex-radio DJ David Mueller, who she said had groped her following a concert four years ago.

He assaulted her by grabbing her bottom beneath her skirt during a photo shoot in 2013, a jury in Denver, Colorado, found.

She was awarded a symbolic $1 (that's 77p to you and me) in damages that she had sought.

Mr Mueller had originally tried to sue the pop star, saying that her claims had cost him his job. But that was thrown out of court by a judge last week.

A jury also rejected similar claims he made against the singer's mother and publicist.

    Following the verdict, she said

    Quote Message
