His pregnant missus Beyonce is skipping the festival scene this summer on doctors orders and, this week, Lady Gaga said she'd step in to save the day at Coachella.

(Wonder if she'll help out with the babysitting too once the twins are born?)

Add to that announcements from the likes of Latitude, Wilderness Green Man, Secret Garden Party and it's been quite a week.

So go ahead punk. Choose your weapon/wellies wisely.

  6. Hot Chip's Alexis Taylor releases sister album to his Piano record published at 14:32 GMT 3 March 2017

Alexis Taylor has released his latest solo effort Listen With(out) Piano today.

The artists, including Green Gartside of Scritti Politti and Brian DeGraw of Gang Gang Dance, were asked to create new versions of the songs which can be played in their own right.

But, and here's the kicker, it can also be played alongside the original version.

Alexis said: “I’ve never done anything where I’ve tried to expand a record before, but I think the reduced nature of it [Piano] meant that it crossed my mind: ‘What would happen if this music was produced by different artists?'"

Watch him show how it's done below.

  10. Ronnie James Dio to tour... from beyond the gravepublished at 13:24 GMT 3 March 2017

    The Guardian

Ronnie James DioImage source, Getty Images

One of the music industry's unwritten rules - never let a little thing like death get in the way of a lucrative tour.

Former Black Sabbath frontman Ronnie James Dio may have died in 2010 but that won't stop him headlining his own series of gigs.... in hologram form.

Dio Disciples features former members of his band and a hologram of the late singer that first performed at last year’s Wacken Open Air festival in Germany.

The hologram was created by the company Eyellusion, with the backing of his widow and manager.

"This is not just about the US. It is truly a world tour. Ronnie’s fans are spread around the world and we intend to bring this exciting show to as many as we can," said Eyellusion’s Jeff Pezzuti.

Will Dio be paid the living wage though?..

Sir Rod Stewart has offered his "deepest apologies" after he was filmed appearing to stage a mock execution in the desert.

A statement from Sir Rod said:

From re-enacting the Beatles’ Abbey Road crossing to spontaneously playing out Game Of Thrones, we were simply larking about pre-show. Understandably, this has been misinterpreted and I send my deepest apologies to those who have been offended.”

Plenty of people on social media HAVE been offended it seems, while a few others don't see this as a real issue.

That's not us saying that by the way - we wish.

The songwriter has penned tracks for the likes of Cher, Rihanna, Backstreet Boys and Christina Aguilera.

She has also contributed to Rihanna's hit single Cheers (Drink To That).

Incredibly, Laura - known professionally as LP - claims to have bashed out the song on a "cheap Hawaiian-brand ukulele" she'd brought along to the studio on a whim.
