Here's the pick of BBC's red carpet chats.

The girls performed a lit rendition of their feminist anthem Woman Like Me - with Ms Banks taking on the role of Nicki Minaj - before heading back up on stage to collect the trophy for best video, for the same track.

They've just tweeted that they had "so much fun", thanking the UK rapper, the Brits and their fans.

Looks like Lizzo had a lot of fun too, pointing out how singer/newfound underwear model Shawn Mendes was checking her out over the BBC's Lizo's head, pre-show.

She could be right but for all we know, the Canadian's bagful of free undies may have just arrived out of shot.

Either way, good night had by all.

Including Dua, who gave it a big "woweeeeeee," after winning yet another Brit.

We've always suspected that award show winners get the nod before the ceremony.

If you watched The Grammys last week, you'll have seen Drake announced as the winner of best rap song; at which point a camera was conveniently pointing at the star, who had arrived, unannounced, backstage as he came out to accept the award.

Tonight, UKTV Play gave the game away completely by broadcasting a pre-recorded advert for "double Brit award winners" The 1975, before the ceremony even started.

Does it matter? Probably not, although it shines an awkward spotlight on every tearful "this was so unexpected" acceptance speech you've ever seen.

And of course, not every award-winner is secretly told in advance. Otherwise, the Oscars' Moonlight mix-up becomes even more bizarre.

Now the action is over, we have time to tell you about host Jack Whitehall's proposed 'dad swap' with Dua Lipa a short while ago.

Dua was in attendance with her full family again - having brought them up on stage last year - and Jack has been fawning over her dad Dad, Dukagjin; a popstar himself in his native Kosovo.

"I've watched your show a couple of times and he's pretty mean," said Dua, of Jack's dad, Michael.

We think that's a no then.

The singer then revealed she was pretty blown away and burst into tears after meeting one of her heroes, Pink, backstage.

"I loved her so much and have been listening to her music most of my life," said Dua.

"You know how people say don't meet your idols? I'm so glad I did..."

So no major dramas on the night - like Stormzy's political rant last year - but The 1975 and Calvin Harris led the field at the 2019 Brit Awards with two wins each.

While we quickly search for an after-party check out the full list of winners, then we'll have some more reaction from the stars.

The US singer - who opened her medley finale by performing new track, Walk Me Home, from backstage in a bathrobe - revealed the secret to her success was surrounding herself with "people who are better than me."

Top tip.

Speaking of her journey from relative obscurity to success in the UK, Pink said: "It's been an amazing journey, from busking on the street, to playing [Camden venue] Dingwalls, to playing Wembley Stadium."

She also said she was delighted to receive the award, which has previously gone to the likes of The Beatles, David Bowie, Fleetwood Mac and Annie Lennox.

Did you catch all those names she dropped?

Back to her performance now as Pink removed the robe to reveal a leather jacket/skirt combo after descending from the roof of the Arena as the stage beneath her erupted into balls of flames.

Singer Dan Smith from Bastille attempted to out-sing the US star on her own stage (he failed), before some leftover rain from Stormzy's performance last year began to fall on the stage.

Decent 10 minute medley that, with the highlight being her rendition of 2017 track, What About Us.

In one of the more awkward exchanges of the night Jesy from the band told host Jack rather unconvincingly that they are still pals with the Syco boss.

The girls left his record label in November.

Jack admitted that he's a total Mixer: "I've got full blown Myxomatosis".

He also joked about their public spat with Piers Morgan after he criticised their nude video for the track, Strip.

"Voluptuous breasts, four chins, must have been like looking in a mirror," said Jack.

And it's the big one of the night for their third album, A Brief Enquiry Into Online Relationships.

They now have three Brits to their name.

Lots of man hugs on stage as Matty says: "We're so humbled by this award, thank you everybody".

There's a special mention for fellow best British group nominees Arctic Monkeys "for still being such an inspiring and relevant band in 2019".

"I know how hard that is," adds Matty.

Matty and the band are now performing their track Sincerity is Scary, with a New York-style background and a pointed woolly hat like in the official video.

"Matty Healy", jokes the host.

"The only man cool enough to pull off the half James Bond / Half Japanese schoolgirl look."

It's Calvin's second award of the night - having just picked up British producer - and the first of the night for Dua Lipa.

The single been viewed more than 92m times on YouTube, we are handily informed by the Brits voiceover lady.

"Wow, pretty cool," says Dua.

"Absolutely amazing," adds Calvin.

Dua's Christmas decoration-style star earrings match the dress she has changed into, while Calvin has changed into a polo neck and brown suit combo.

Strong.

The UK singer doesn't wear make-up on Thursdays so technically she didn't have to do this on a Wednesday night...

However, in a show of female empowerment she wiped away her eye-liner and removed her fake eyelashes while singing her recent ode to natural beauty.

Her performance was matched only by the powerful voice of H.E.R. who appeared to leave both her make-up and sunglasses on throughout.

"I would've taken mine off," joked host Jack, "but without this foundation I go from Jamie Redknapp to Harry Redknapp."

Presented by Annie Mac and model Suki Waterhouse who, in a moment of over-excitement introduces him as "the king of Scots".

"He's come a long way from stacking shelves in his M&S in Dumfries," adds Annie.

It's his first ever Brit award, despite 15 previous nominations.

"I've been coming here for a few years and never had the opportunity to say anything.

"I want to thank anyone who bought a tune, streamed a tune, come to show, or even heard a tune by accident and thought 'what's this?'.

"It means a lot."

That covers a lot of folk, right there, from Dumfries to L.A.

Sam Smith joined Dumfries DJ Calvin Harris, Rag N Bone Man and Dua Lipa for the anticipated medley of mega-hits.

On three different stages no less.

Wearing a sparkly shirt, Sam threw a series of poses before having a dance with supermodel Winnie Harlow.

Dua emerged from a kind of island set up for a spirited One Kiss while the Ragster is on point with a strong vocal performance as usual.

"Go and have a lie down," joked host Jack to Calvin, whose job, as always was to stand by the decks looking cool, while all of the above was going on.

You know the one - alongside their hero; The Queen, Nicki Minaj.

Bros presented the award to the girls, who admitted they have had "absolutely no shame in asking fans to vote for it."

"We would not be on this stage without you guys," said Jesy Nelson.

"You're our babies, we love you so much."

Some of the band's footballer boyfriends; Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Andre Gray, were up on their highly-valued feet to applaud.

As if to vindicate the selection, Ed was unable to pick up the award due to being on tour in South America.

"Thank you so much, this means a lot," he said in a video message from Uruguay.

"I feel very honoured to be part of the British music industry."

The 20-year-old Canadian singer is enjoying a drink, having been legally too young to booze at last week's Grammys.

Host Jack was not going to let the moment pass without mentioning Shawn's recent Calvin Klein underwear ads.

He joked the security in the arena would be vigilant about, ahem, "suspicious packages."

Oh, is it getting hot in here?

Shawn was up against Drake, Eminem, Kamasi Washington and Travis Scott in the category for international male solo artist.

After Drake's win, Jack joked: "It should have gone to Shawn, he bunked off school to be here!"

None of whom could be bothered to show up, it seems.

We're sure they were all pretty busy.

In a videotaped message in front of a portrait of Meghan Markle dressed in regal robes, Beyonce said: "Thank you so much to the Brits, you’ve always been so supportive.

"Everything is love."

"You're welcome," deadpanned Jay.

Drake was named international male and kept it short, plugging his upcoming tour and adding "I appreciate this honour, it means a lot to me thanks to everyone who voted."

Best international female could only go to Ariana Grande who is probably still out on the lash with Piers Morgan, external.

"This is so cool, I wish I was there, I have so much love for the UK," she said.

The mighty Rag 'n' Bone Man will perform on stage shortly as part of a medley with Dua Lipa, Sam Smith and Calvin Harris - though he said he is on stage for "about a minute and a half".

You can get a lot done in that time.

He too is working on his second album but said it sounds very different to Giant, his recent collab with Calv.

"My new album material doesn’t sound anything like that so, we can't pair it together but it's nice to have something which stands on its own.

"I performed last year and I didn't think I'd be back this year, it's pretty amazing really and my family get to see me on telly."

A popular choice judging by the reaction at the O2.

The Scots-born singer who was raised in Manchester said: "Wow, let me tell you I was not expecting this, oh my God.

"Thanks to anybody who listened to my music and voted for me, you are absolute legends.

"To everyone in Scotland. To my gran, who is watching somewhere on telly... yes Gran, here we are!"

Everybody else: "Awwww..."

The girls were joined by a host of backing dancers wearing bright pink (with the exception of a green catsuited Ms Banks) for their performance of Woman Like Me.

They pulled it out of the bag when they opened the Brits two years ago and this year is no exception.

"Phew raunchy," said Jack Whitehall.

"Dads up and down the country fumbling for a scatter cushion right now."

Gulp.
