He has since pledged not to incite hatred or violence in future songs.

In a statement on Twitter, his team said he was "humbled and filled with gratitude" for his supporters.

It added he was "no plans for public appearances".

Speaking on Absolute Radio, Liam previously said the record would be "done by Christmas" and told the NME that it would be "a bit Pistols, a bit Stooges."

Players only love you when you're paying...

The Mac's former singer/guitarist has come to an agreement with his ex bandmdates regarding his dismissal earlier this year.

"I’m happy enough with it," he told the CBS This Morning programme (above).

"I’m not out there trying to twist the knife at all."

Buckingham lost his job in January and was replaced by Mike Campbell from Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers and Crowded House's Neil Finn.

The legal case alleged a breach of oral contract, among other charges. It was all settled a few weeks back apparently and now Buckingham is taking the high road.

"I’m trying to look at this with some level of compassion," he added, "some level of wisdom.”

He went on to say that he hadn't spoken to any of the band in person since the split but that Christine McVie - who he released a album of duets with last year - had reached out.

"I have gotten an email, which I expected to get, from Christine McVie,” he said.

The Canadian rocker and famed eco warrior has apologised to fans after belatedly realising that his London gig alongside Bob Dylan next summer is sponsored by what he describes as "fossil fuel funding entity” Barclays.
