The quest for a good, single origin and well-ground coffee is a noble one and, as such, WoD frontman Adam Granduciel may judge those who resort to the standard office/service station caffeine fix.

He told 6 Music DJ Lauren Laverne all about the lengths he'll go to to find a proper posh coffee, while on tour.

"I walk there like a robot," he said.

To mark the occasion of its 50th birthday, BBC Radio Sheffield has remade a South Yorkshire anthem - Pulp's Common People.

The performance comes courtesy of a community choir, made up of singers from across the region.

Filming took place at various locations across South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire, including Barnsley Town Hall and Doncaster Market before culminating in Sheffield's Leadmill nightclub - the venue where Pulp played their very first gig in 1980.

  4. Are these the 30 most influential music stars under 30s?published at 14:58 GMT 15 November 2017

    Cardi BImage source, Getty Images

Cardi B, Migos, SZA and Paramore's Hayley Williams have all made it into the music section of Forbes' annual 30 under 30 list for 2018.

The list recognises "youthful visionaries" across a range of different industries. Apparently, this year at least, it does not recognise any Brits.

In September, Cardi became the first female rapper in nearly 20 years to get a US number one single with Bodak Yellow. She is also engaged to Offset from Migos after he proposed to her on stage last month, so the future is looking bright for that particular household.

SZA joins them on the list and here she is being a Normal Girl on the last series of Later...with Jools.

Grunge rockers Stone Temple Pilots have share their first new material since the death of singer Scott Weiland (above) in 2015.

The band have a new singer Jeff Gutt, a 41-year-old from Michigan, who fronted nu-metal act Dry Cell and recently appeared as a contestant on The X Factor in the US.

Gutt not only has to fill Weiland's shoes but, for a time, the band was also fronted by the late Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington.

  6. Radiohead's Ed thinks Dr Dre should be a Rock And Roll Hall of Fame nomineepublished at 14:20 GMT 15 November 2017

Oxfordshire's finest are listed as nominees, alongside fellow first-timers Kate Bush, Dire Straits and the Eurythmics.

The official class of 2018 will be revealed next month for the ceremony which takes place next April.

But speaking to Esquire, guitarist Ed O’Brien explained why the band have mixed feelings about the whole thing.

Ed said: “As a British band, it’s one of those things that it’s very lovely to be nominated, but we don’t quite culturally understand it. It’s a very American thing. Us Brits are very bad at celebrating ourselves."

    He added:

    Quote Message

With British bands, there was a lot of hostility. It’s in our DNA to be a little ambivalent with award ceremonies. We haven’t had great experiences.

Also on the list are Nina Simone, Rage Against The Machine, Bon Jovi, Judas Priest and Depeche Mode.

    Dr DreImage source, Getty Images

But Ed has other ideas about who should be welcomed into the club.

“It’s a little bit thin on black artists and hip-hop artists.

"I’m just speaking as a fan of American music, I would have thought that Dr Dre should have been in there two years ago.

"His name should be first on the list way ahead of Radiohead.”

Handily ignoring the fact Dre was inducted last year with his former N.W.A. bandmates.

Ed has previously said the band considered asking the rapper to appear on OK Computer follow-up Kid A, which would have made that album a different beast entirely.

Mercury-nominated east London grime star J Hus will play his first ever headline gig in his hometown later at Brixton Academy.

The rapper is among a number of artists who have suggested the Metropolitan Police had effectively stopped them playing in London, with the controversial Form 696.

Since 2005, promoters and licensees have been asked to complete the form as a risk assessment for hosting music events with DJs and MCs.

The form has now been scrapped.

J Hus told Newsbeat: "As an artist, you're trying to inspire the youth and show them that they can do it just like us.

"[I want] to show the other youths from the same place that we came from, that you can overcome your situation."

  9. Stevie Van Zandt plays surprise set at The Cavernpublished at 13:12 GMT 15 November 2017

Stevie Van ZandtImage source, Stevie Van Zandt

Last week we told you how chuffed Stevie Van Zandt was to welcome his hero Sir Paul McCartney on stage with him at Camden's Roundhouse to kick off his UK tour.

He compared him to the Greek god Zeus! Remember?

Well, now the singer has surprised fans in Macca's hometown Liverpool by playing an intimate lunchtime set at the iconic Cavern Club.

Stevie; a founder member of Bruce Springsteen's E Street band (and also Silvio Dante in The Sopranos) apparently loves a good religious metaphor.

He said: "Playing in the same venue where The Beatles started their careers is a childhood dream of mine come true. This was a band that set me on course for a life of music.

"For my Rock and Roll religion, the Cavern is the first sacred site. It was an honour, no make that an epiphany, to perform there!”

Stevie and his band the Disciples of Soul even knocked out matinee covers of Beatles classics including Magical Mystery Tour, Good Morning, Good Morning, Got To Get You Into My Life and All You Need Is Love.

Know your audience people. Know your audience.

In case you missed it Stevie answered our questions last week, while en route from Leeds to Birmingham.

And where do all these celebs come from, are they really just wandering the streets of Los Angeles waiting for 'friends' to call and ask for help in using the carpool lane?

Anyway rant over, here is the wonderful Pink singing some of her greatest hits.

She also reveals her childhood crush on Jon Bon Jovi. When he married his childhood sweetheart "I almost threw up in my mouth", she confesses. Lovely stuff.

Helen McCrory, who plays Polly Shelby of the notorious family at the centre of the action, appeared on The One Show last night and revealed the rather news.
