Don't be sad though, as we'll be back tomorrow for New Music Friday with Beyonce/Ed and a new album from U2.

Scroll down for who won what at the Mobos, a big confession from Jay-Z and some even bigger questions for Ed regarding his proposed move to New Zealand.

Flip-flops simply won't wash down there, mate.

To finish today our #ThrowbackThursday finds us at V Festival in Chelmsford in 2008.

    Where you there?

Well, birthday girls Girls Aloud were and they ripped through pop bangers like their first ever song (but not their best though, according to you lot earlier), Sound of the Underground.

Watch above as Cheryl and the team take us "back to the very beginning".

    Neither can we.

We're also still reeling from the lack of Love Machine in your best track suggestions below.

Anyway, the girls have been posting their birthday reactions on social media today and luckily Nadine (above) from the band went for a little bit of LM action.

Kimberley gave a simple shout-out to all of the girls-turned-women, declaring herself to be "so proud" of their achievements.

Finally Nicola posted the below pic of her with Kim and Chezza (what will the others say?) alongside the following message:

"Girls day with these two today. It is crazy to think that 15 years ago today we were getting ready for our last live show on TV before the public decided who they wanted to make up Girls Aloud.

"All of our lives completely changed forever. No going back. I’m confident in saying that those early years of the band will always truly be the wildest ride of my life both personally and as a group and no-one other than the 5 of us knows how it felt. Happy 15 years Girls Aloud, our team & the Alouders. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️"

The Alouders? Was that a thing? Well it is now.

    All the best, ladies.

He also opens up about President Donald Trump, his "brother" Kanye West and his mother Gloria Carter, who came out as gay when he was a kid.

    He wasn't the only one.

There's so many to choose from and we've had a lot of love coming in for tracks like Untouchable, The Loving Kind, Biology, Long Hot Summer and The Promise.

Seems most of you are too cool though to opt for hits as obvious as Love Machine or Sound of the Underground.

Despite their many top pop tunes and today's great suggestions, one song stands out above the rest as the most popular.

    Call the Shots.

Or as Daniel (below) calls it: "The best song of the 21st Century".

    The people have spoken.

That's according to the good people at Vevo.

Everybody has gone crazy for dancing slowly to Lusi Fonsi's Latino hit this year.

The reggaeton-pop tune featuring Daddy Yankee stormed the charts and reached #1 in 47 countries. It's been watched 4.3 billion times around the world.

    That's BILLION, people.

The video channel has also revealed that Little Mix are officially the UK’s most-watched musical act this year.

  11. Boy George helps to relaunch Gay Timespublished at 13:37 GMT 30 November 2017

Boy GeorgeImage source, The Gay Times

Boy George will appear on the first Gay Times cover since the magazine's newly-appointed editor Josh Rivers was suspended over offensive tweets he posted in the past.

Talking about those old tweets, Mr Rivers told Radio 4 he was "appalled" by what he had written.

"I was stunned" said the 31-year-old.

"I was confused. I spent most of my 20s in a daze, in a blur. I was not sober as much as I probably could have been.

"I was lost, I was angry. I was upset, I was lonely. And I think those tweets are a reflection of someone lashing out at the world around him."

Big Mobo winner Stormzy apologized for homophobic comments he made in the past too, last week.

In the new mag, George opens up about his new Las Vegas residency, Culture Club and how things have changed for him in the 30 years since his first cover appearance for the mag.

"God, well, it’s got better! It’s taken a while, but it’s definitely got better. I feel that life is about growing into who you are," said the 56-year-old.

"You know Quentin Crisp used to say 'you have to push your neurosis around in your body until it can sit somewhere that you can live with it' and I think that’s so true.

    Quote Message

I don’t feel like I have a lot of neurosis. I’ve got a different type of confidence now that I didn’t have when I was 20, or 25, or 30 or even 40, where I just used to be so controlled by outside forces... inside forces."

He added: "I also work harder, I eat well, I exercise, I’m very conscious of what I do to myself, I don’t drink, I don’t take drugs, so my life in that respect has improved. I think in our business, having self-control is such a revelation.

"It’s like 'I didn’t do that, isn’t that amazing!' so I kind of enjoy that feeling of self-control, being in charge and just getting [stuff] done!”

Before the general election in June, Grime For Corbyn , externaldeclared the entire genre to be behind the Labour leader in his bid for Number 10.

Now, after his appearance at Glastonbury earlier this year, music fan Jeremy recorded an impassioned speech for the gathered masses at the First Direct Arena in Leeds last night.

    Media caption,

Jacinda Ardern: "Do you like pineapple lumps?"

"Hook me up prime minister please!" urged the Shape of You singer, in a recent video message to his fans down under (above).

That was after saying he was "working on" a plan to become an official Kiwi citizen.

Presumably it's down to there being less traffic on the roads out there.

Ed will head to New Zealand in March next year for a series of gigs in Auckland and Dunedin. Ahead of his visit, it seems his message has already got through to the top.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern (below) responded to his request with a few "important questions" designed to test his commitment.

"First, do you like pineapple lumps?" she said. "Do you even know what they are?

My oh my, how time flies.

Back in 2002, five unknown young ladies named Cheryl, Nadine, Sarah, Nicola and Kimberley were thrown together on the ITV reality series Popstars: The Rivals, dreaming of fame, fortune and chart success.

The rest, as they say, is history...

Girls Aloud went on to become the UK's biggest-selling girl group of the 21st century, with over 4.3 million singles sales and four million albums sold in the UK alone.

Today marks 15 years to the day that they were formed, so with that in mind we want to know what is your favourite ever GA song?

The lead singer indie rock band Modest Mouse, Isaac Brock, has been sued for $865,000 (£642,000) over a traffic accident last year.

City employee Cassidy Kane says she suffered a herniated spine when Brock's SUV crashed into her pick-up truck.

He told officers he had fallen asleep at the wheel.

Police said they did not notice any signs of drug or alcohol impairment, and cited the singer for careless driving. He has since paid a $435 fine.

Kane says the injury continues to cause her pain and numbness in her extremities and she may need surgery, a court heard.

Kanya King famously remortgaged her house to launch the Mobo Awards in 1996. The ceremony was designed as an antidote to the Brits, recognising the achievements of artists in genres including gospel, jazz, R&B, soul, reggae and hip-hop.

Now, though, music of black origin is the predominant force in the charts. Sampha won the Mercury Prize, Stormzy's got a number one album and Boy Better Know headlined the Other Stage at Glastonbury.

Naughty Boy acknowledged the movement at last night's ceremony when he presented the best song prize to J Hus's Did You See.

“I’m not going to call it urban," he said. "This is mainstream, it’s pop.”

Time Magazine has named Katy Perry's four-day livestream - in which she lived in a Big Brother-style house, eating, sleeping, practicing Yoga and talking to an online audience - as one of the top 10 TV programmes of 2017, external.

The list, which was topped by Pamela Aldon's comedy-drama Better Things, singled out Perry's experimental broadcast for reflecting, sometimes unintentionally, the sense of anxiety and unease many Americans felt at the start of the Trump presidency.

"The singer, a Clinton campaign surrogate in 2016, seemed throughout the stream to be downcast and in an unnameable sort of pain, less interested in the music she was putting out than in opportunities to discuss concepts like privilege or her own history of cultural appropriation," wrote TV critic Daniel D'Addario.

"Perry’s prolix, at times inarticulate, days-long examination of her own motives and actions was a strange choice for a would-be world-conquering diva, but it made for television perfect for a moment at which so many are trying to find a new narrative frame to understand the world."

It wasn't a good year for women at the Mobos. Despite nominations for Cardi B, Jessie Ware, Solange, SZA, Little Simz, Nadia Rose and Ray BLK, all but one of the prizes went to male artists.

But even Stormzy couldn't win best female - so Stefflon Don had to represent an entire gender when she took to the stage.

"I literally just came from the toilet,” she announced as she picked up her prize.

“It’s been a good year for me, it’s been massive and you guys know I’m all about women’s empowerment.”

The singer, who was nominated for the Brits Critics' Choice award yesterday, also performed her top 10 single Hurtin' Me at the Mobo ceremony.
