Granddad rockers The RollingStones celebrated the arrival of their travelling memorabilia exhibition in New York with a glitzy-party.

Exhibitionism features nine galleries of costumes, instruments and personal notes collected by the Stones over half a century.

According to Reuters, guitarist 'Keef' Richards said: "There's a sense of nostalgia, but I think I walked away from it with how much the Stones mean to so many people. And that was kind of humbling in a way,"

Exhibitionism is open in New York until 12 March before heading to Chicago, Illinois.

It was previously at the Saatchi Gallery in London.

Forty-one previously unreleased poems by the man in black Johnny Cash are to set to feature in a new book.

Forever Words: The Unknown Poems will contain pieces of writing discovered after he passed away in 2003, with some dating back to as early as 1944 when Cash was aged 12.

In a quote given to the New York Times, Cash’s son John Carter Cash said, “I want people to have a deeper understanding of my father than just the iconic, cool man in black.

"I think this book will help provide that.”

Last week we told you about Adele being named the richest British celeb under 30.

But it seems she's now been top-trumped in the rich kids stakes by fellow female pop sensation Taylor Swift, after Forbes named her the world’s highest-paid celebrity yet to hit the big 3-0.

Taylor has apparently amassed $170m in 2016, with One Direction's collective $110 million putting them in second-place.

Barcelona footballer Lionel Messi sits in third after making $81.5 million this year and while Adele may be the best of British her meagre $80.5 million only lands her in fourth place on the world list.

Must try harder.

Mose Allison, the Mississippi blues pianist whose songs have been covered by the likes of Van Morrison, the Who, the Clash, Elvis Costello and the Yardbirds, has dies aged 89.

His family said he had died from undisclosed causes at his home in South Carolina.

Raised outside the town of Tippo, Allison picked up the blues from African American sharecroppers around him. 

"I never thought I was playing black music. I was just playing music, the stuff I liked," he said.

He received the prestigious National Endowment for the Arts jazz masters fellowship in 2013.

Unsigned singer-songwriter Emmi has been hand-picked to sing the only song in Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them - a new film spin-off from the Harry Potter series.

The Devon-born singer was chosen by David Yates to sing a set of lyrics written by JK Rowling, and recorded the vocals in her childhood bedroom.

Katy Perry has helped the execs at Capitol records in the US mark their 75th anniversary by unveiling a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

She was all smiles as she posed with the award which read: "Capitol Records. Celebrating 75 years of recorded music from 1942 to 2017".

The label has been homes to artists like The Beatles, Buzzcocks, Diana Ross, Snoop Dogg and, of course, Katy.

She said: "From the moment I walked into this pizza pie-shaped tower over 10 years ago, I felt the magic and the history of this place. 

"My previous encounters with other record companies had not gone so well but let's just leave it at that, R.I.P."

Keeping a theme running for today and following news of Soulwax recording new material (scroll down), now we can tell you about the return of Nelly Furtado who is back with a new album, The Ride, due in 2017...and a new short haircut too it seems.

She has just shared a new track Pipe Dreams, a few weeks after releasing another single Islands of Me (which you can heard below).

Radiohead have received nominations in all of the major categories at the Music Producers' Guild Awards.

Thom Yorke and his pals will go up against David Bowie and Michael Kiwanuka for album of the year.

They are also shortlisted for single of the year for Burn The Witch (against ZAYN and Calvin Harris), while their producer Nigel Godrich is nominated for the main prize, producer of the year.

He's up against Paul Epworth - who produced parts of the new Adele album and Kano's producer Fraser T Smith.

The winner of that accolade automatically receives a Brit.

Earlier this year, following the gushing review of his albums Endless and Blonde, Frank Ocean seemed a shoe-in to be nominated at the Grammys.

Then it was reported it could not win any awards because neither had been submitted in time. No response from Frank.

"I’ll tell you this right now: If his album’s not nominated in no categories, I’m not showing up to the Grammys" said Kanye West.

Then, it was revealed Frank himself had made the decision not to submit it.

Now, finally, he has broken his silence in an interview with the New York Times, on why he will sit out next year's ceremony.

"It just doesn’t seem to be representing very well for people who come from where I come from and hold down what I hold down." he said.

He noted just a handful of black artists have won album of the year, the last being Herbie Hancock in 2008.

"I think the infrastructure of the awarding system and the nomination system and screening system is dated," he added.

"I’d rather this be my Colin Kaepernick (Black American footballer who refused to stand for the US national them in protest) moment for the Grammys than sit there in the audience."

They have recorded an album together and even toured together but Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne admits people are still surprised by his friendship with tongue-poking, conservative America-baiting pop wunderkind Miley Cyrus.

Speaking to Nihal on 5 live, Wayne says the age difference between them is so great that it doesn't matter.

"She might as well be ten and I'm 100, we're both in diapers," he explains below.

Alicia Keys has performed her new song Holy War on the US version of The Voice. 

The singer was due to perform her new single, Blended Family (What You Do for Love) but decided to switch songs following the unrest in cities across the US over the results of the recent US election.

"Due to the current climate, there is only one song I can sing, and that's 'Holy War,'" she said.

The BBC has announced BBC Western House in central London - from where Radio 2 is broadcast - is to be renamed BBC Wogan House.

Before his death earlier this year, he had two stints hosting the Radio 2 breakfast show between 1972-1984 and 1993-2009.

He closed his last broadcast with the words, “thank you for being my friend”. 

A new plaque is being unveiled by Sir Terry's family and Director-General Tony Hall.

A family statement said "BBC Radio 2 was such an important part of Terry’s life. 

"He spent so many happy years there doing what he loved – chatting and laughing with the listeners from his studio in BBC Western House every weekday morning.

“We are so proud that the building is being renamed ‘Wogan House’ in his honour, the whole family are extremely touched by such a wonderful gesture.”

Belgian electronic band and superstar remixers/DJs Soulwax have shared their first new music, under the own name, in eleven years.

The brilliantly titled TRANSIENT PROGRAM FOR DRUMS AND MACHINERY follows the soundtrack to the Belgian film Belgica, in which they scored music for fictional bands.

In addition to the track, Soulwax have also delivered news of a European tour beginning next March and making calls to London and Manchester.

Singer-songwriter Regina Spektor voiced her concerns at Donald Trump's US election win as she played at London's Royal Festival Hall last night.

After The Trapper and The Furrier - a song that addresses social inequality - the singer paused to collect herself, before telling the audience: "I'm a small person but I get so angry.

"We can't let them have the planet."

The singer, whose Jewish parents fled Russia for the US in the 1980s, returned to the topic later, saying: "What can we do now? We can do this. Make art and connect. That's something we can do."

The rest of the two-hour show exemplified those sentiments. Spektor played her latest album, Remember Us To Life, in its entirety, interspersing it with fan favourites Fidelity, Us and Sailor Song, backed by a string quartet.

"Play Samson!" shouted one audience member towards the end of the show.

"And also, all of them," replied another, who clearly didn't want the night to end.

That was the defiant message left ringing out around Shepherds Bush Empire in London last night, as major artists and fans joined with friends and family of the late Nick Alexander to make a fittingly-named Peaceful Noise., external

Maximo Park, Frank Turner, Gaz Coombes and Travis' Fran Healy all turned out on a night of remembrance for Nick, who was killed along with 98 others while working on the merchandise stall at an Eagles of Death Metal gig at the Bataclan theatre in Paris one year ago.

Eagles front man Jesse Hughes performed a surprise solo set to a backing track as one of two special guest acts (the other being one of Nick's favourite bands Chas and Dave) and on an emotionally-charged evening the American dispersed the following words of wisdom.

"The only answer there is for things that are terrible is love and beauty and peace...and we're proving that right now.

Fran Healy opened the show with an acoustic set which included classic Travis tunes such as Driftwood and All I Wanna Do Is Rock and the Scottish singer declared music venues to be "holier than churches, but without the God stuff."

He also paid a glowing personal tribute to the fallen Essex man who was killed aged 35.

"Nick wasn't like the other T-shirt guys. They mostly keep themselves to themselves and go to bed early - Nick was more Rock 'n' Roll.

"He was super-passionate and when I first met him I thought he was in one of the other bands!

Frank Turner called music "a force for unification", before joking that: "Nick gave me many things. He gave me his friendship. But the last thing that he gave me was the chance to share a stage with (mother-flipping) Chas and Dave! I've got a Chas and Dave tattoo!"

Gaz Coombes, who dedicated the lesser-heard Supergrass song Mansize Rooster to Nick, said: "That kind of evil can't silence us," adding, "it's vital we stand together and spread the love".

While Maximo Park frontman Paul Smith said "music is a positive thing and we're gonna keep playing it."

Quite right too.

The night ended with every act re-joining headliners Maximo on the stage for an apparently-impromptu and ramshackle-yet-raucous rendition of Neil Young's Rockin' In The Free World.

A most appropriate sentiment and one endorsed by Nick's sister Zoe, who organised the event: "That was the message we really wanted to get across from tonight.

"We have to keep on rocking.

Prince's estate is taking Jay Z's Roc Nation to court claiming Tidal has been illegally streaming the late-musician's back catalogue.

According to a report in the Minnesota newspaper the Star Tribune, external, legal action has been filed by NPG Records and NPG Music Publishing against Jay's business - which includes Tidal.

In 2015, Prince pulled his music from all streaming services, but signed a deal with Tidal to premiere his LP HITNRUN.

In June this year, two months after his death, Tidal made 15 rare Prince albums available for streaming on what would have been the star's 58th birthday.

The Prince estate claims it did so without authorisation.

Last week, Roc Nation , externalasked the court to enforce what it claimed was an agreed-upon arrangement with Prince concerning his entire digital catalogue. 

NPG has acknowledged the initial Roc Nation deal but said it was only supposed to last for 90 days.

The legal action comes after Prince's estate agreed a new deal with Universal Music which could see his catalogue making it on to other streaming services.
