So that's it for today. Time for a quiet evening and a good night's sleep, before the mayhem that is Glastonbury - finally - kicks off tomorrow.

Remember the official advice (scroll down): Don't overdo it.

And watch that head-banging too. That's as according to X Japan drummer Yoshiki (sporting shades, leathers and a neck brace above) "head-banging is no good".

The classical pianist-turned-heavy metal drummer recently had an urgent operation to implant an artificial cervical disc.

A neurosurgeon in Japan reportedly told the 51-year-old he had such severe neck damage that it would have forced a professional rugby player to retire.

"I'm not well. It hurts a lot," said Yoshiki, who will be sticking to the piano in the immediate future.

"I want to be an artist who inspires people by keeping on going and staying alive."

    Well said that man.

Scroll down for details of new music from the Foos, a new name for Jay Z and a new headache for Lorde and her pal Taylor.

    Until tomorrow.

Finally, John Legend is going to be out of action for a couple of days after falling ill.

Legend said he needed "a few days to recover and rest my voice" forcing him to postpone immediate tour dates in Maryland and Camden - and prompting an outpouring of love on Twitter.

The All of You singer assured fans that new concert dates will be announced "very soon" and seating will be honoured.

He is due to play New York's Madison Square Gardens next week.

Lanegan features on latest track Looking For The Rain - and you can watch the hypnotic new video below.

Lavelle said, in a statement: “I hadn’t made a record in a long time and the incarnation of UNKLE had changed on that now, it was me on my own.

Frontman Dave Grohl will be on the Annie Mac show on Radio 1 tonight, from 19:00 BST.

The band were forced to cancel their Glasto headline slot two years ago, late on, after Dave fell off the stage in Sweden and broke his leg.

Now Dave, who resumed the tour at the time by performing on a hilarious metal throne, says he is hoping for forgiveness from the Worthy Farm crowd.

"We were supposed to be back a few years ago. Unfortunately I had to call in sick!" he said.

"So for me personally, this is a big make-up date.

"We get to headline Glastonbury, but also I get to do it standing on two legs. It means a lot to me personally - it's part of my recovery."

    Wooooof.

Digital sales were also up 51 per cent over last year and grime streams are also on the rise by 138 per cent.

Chances are you probably heard Stormzy's number one album Gangs, Signs & Prayer and maybe even sampled Skepta's Mercury Award-winning record Konnichiwa...

...if you still don't know what any of this means though, let BBC Minute (below) be your guide to how grime has gone from being the soundtrack of urban London life to hitting the mainstream.

I think we all have deep down.

Luckily the Californian sisters gave the newly-returned Radio 1 DJ a call to discuss their new track and 'hottest record' Little of Your Love.

The girls say the song is their attempt at a 50s piano rock song, but don't worry, it still contains some typically Haim-esque "Guitar-mony."

  13. Lynyrd Skynyrd sue ex drummer over film biopicpublished at 13:16 BST 20 June 2017

Billy Powell, Bob Burns and Gary Rossington of Lynyrd Skynyrd, in 2006Image source, Getty Images

Warning! This next post will be long and convoluted - much like a Lynyrd Skynyrd guitar solo.

Okay it's lunch, now get your teeth stuck into this next story...

Lynyrd Skynyrd guitarist Gary Rossington, lead singer Johnny Van Zant and the estates of the other band members that were killed in their 1977 plane crash are suing former drummer Artimus Pyle over plans to make a biopic based on the Southern rockers.

The unauthorised film, initially titled Free Bird, was subsequently renamed Street Survivors: The True Story of the Lynyrd Skynyrd Plane Crash following a cease-and-desist notice.

In the lawsuit, obtained by the Rolling Stone, external, Lynyrd Skynyrd argued that Pyle "is free to exploit his own personal life story" for the film, but the biopic is in danger of violating "a 1988 consent order" that members - Pyle included - agreed to concerning control of the Lynyrd Skynyrd copyright.

The consent order states, "No such exploitation of life story rights is authorized which purports to be a history of the Lynyrd Skynyrd band, as opposed to the life story of the applicable individual."

    With us so far?

Lynyrd Skynyrd perform in 2001.Image source, Getty Images

Also being sued is the film division of Cleopatra Records. In legal papers, Cleopatra's lawyer has argued that Pyle is no longer assisting with the writing of the film, nor did he direct or produce it.

It added that the coming film won't use the band's music and will begin with an explicit disclaimer stating that neither Lynyrd Skynyrd nor any bandmember had authorised the film.

Their lawyer, Evan Mandel also cites the First Amendment.

"In producing and releasing the film, Cleopatra is exercising its right to make a film about a newsworthy event from the past, a form of constitutionally protected free speech."

An 11 July court date has been scheduled for the lawsuit.

Lynyrd Skynyrd rose to global fame in the 1970s with hits like Sweet Home Alabama and Free Bird.

As a little treat for bearing with us through this most complicated of entries here's LS doing what they do best, external...turn it up while you scoff your sarnies.

Headliners Radiohead have already offered some words to the wise for you all (scroll down) - now the festival itself has offered some suggestions.

It's gonna be a hot one apparently, so organizers are saying:

    • Stay hydrated
    • Protect yourself
    • Save water
    • Don't overdo it

All good advice but from our experience the latter is easier said than done.

In essence they're saying: Have fun folks, but be safe.

Ed O'Brien of Radiohead, who of course headline Glastonbury Festival for the third time this Friday, has advised Glasto newbies to "leave your ego and your shades at the gates".

"It's all about humility," the guitarist told Radio 1's Annie Mac. "You're one part of this huge, amazing festival - it's not about you."

He said the band had No Suprises planned for their Friday night slot, which ties in with the release of OKNOTOK, but admitted to being "a little nervous" despite being old timers at the festival.

"We've got the Glastonbury tingles," he said. "It means a lot."

In other Radiohead news, NME reports, external the case against Live Nation in regards to a stage collapse at a Radiohead show in 2012 has ended in a mistrial - and further delays could mean the case doesn’t make it to court at all.

Live Nation have denied any wrongdoing in the incident, saying, in 2013, that they "did everything possible to ensure the safety of anyone who was on or near the stage".
