Fans of The Bif are in for a shock on frontman Simon Neil's next record, according to the man himself.

We know what he did last summer...he released the latest Biffy album Ellipsis, but before that he managed to record an electronic track, external under the name ZZC for the Radio 1 re-scoring of the film Drive.

Now the Scotsman has told Kerrang to expect something "dance-y and surprising" on his forthcoming 2017 record. But don't call it a solo album whatever you do.

“I’m reticent to say ‘solo’,” said Neil.

    Quote Message

“It’s another outlet, I guess. It’s a purely electronic album. I wrote it and made it when I was trying to make ‘Ellipsis’ and I was worried about writing a Biffy song and making it as good as all our other songs.

"That wasn’t working so I had to go away and make some different music.”

He added: “I ended up making this dance record. It’s quite sparse. Some of it’s ambient, some of it’s hilarious. There’s not a guitar on it. It’ll be called ZZC but if you Google ‘ZZC’ it comes up as a Japanese porn site. I really should have checked.”

Don't search for that one at work then maybe. Save it for home time.

We caught up with Simon in the summer and you can read the full interview here.

    Q TipImage source, Getty Images

It was billed as their last album following the death of rapper Phife Dawg but, following the huge critical success of We Got It From Here… Thank You 4 Your Service. A Tribe Called Quest's Q Tip has suggested it may not be the end.

He was speaking to Annie Mac on Monday night about the album - which Annie has named as one of her top album's of 2016 - when he told her "Stay tuned for any other incarnation, ’cause we don’t intend on stopping.

    Quote Message

That was Phife’s M.O. - 'This time we gotta do it and keep going.' And now he’s left us with the equation of how do we do it, but we’re going to need it, and we’re going to continue.".

A Tribe Called Quest still men on a mission. You can listen to the full interview here.

    Stevie Wonder

Stevie Wonder reworks one of his biggest hits to sing “I’m just here because I love you" and Gaga shows off a tattoo on her right arm bearing the name Benedetto, saying: "Mr. Bennett, could you have set the bar a little lower?"

TV talk show host Piers Morgan is trying all his best tricks to land an exclusive interview with Lady Gaga on the subject of her post traumatic stress disorder and rape.

Gaga revealed last week that she had suffered with PTSD after being raped aged 19, but Morgan described the claim as "vain-glorious nonsense" and promotional, adding that the disorder happens to soldiers, not pop-stars.

Lupe Fiasco has told fans he is quitting music after he was accused of ant-semitism in a new set of lyrics.

He was tweeted, external by Jonathan Greenblatt from the Anti-Defamation League and asked "why promote hurtful #antiSemitic stereotypes?"

Lupe was due to release three albums before the end of this year but announced in October that the plans were off, though he was expected to release new music next year.

Controversial rapper Kanye West has clarified the reason for his trip to see US President-Elect Donald Trump at his New York home yesterday.

Only last month the Gold Digger star told a California crowd that he did not vote in the election but if he had he would have voted Trump.

This was during a lengthy rant at a curtailed gig in Sacremento, shortly before he pulled the rest of his tour in order to spend some time in hospital in LA where he was treated for exhaustion.

But it seems that Kanye is now rested and ready to talk politics once again.

He's tweeted that the meeting at Trump Tower was to "discuss multicultural issues", including "bullying, supporting teachers, modernizing curriculums and violence" in his hometown Chicago.
