North London singer-songwriter Dodie has shared the visuals for her new single Monster, which is taken from her new EP Human, which was released last week.

The’ video follows an unlucky-in-love monster called Ness entering back into the scary world of dating.

It was directed by PJ Liguori, creator of the online series Oscar’s Hotel for Fantastical Creatures.

The singer is touring he UK in March.

She spoke to Newsbeat last year about her struggles with mental health.

From Blue Monday yesterday, to Blue Dot - New Order are back in Music News LIVE once again.

They've been announced, alongside Hot Chip, to join Kraftwerk and Jon Hopkins in headlining the event at the Jodrell Bank Observatory in Cheshire.

A chef and business owner who lost her life savings in the Fyre Festival fiasco in 2017 has been gifted nearly $160,000 (£124,000) through a crowdfunding campaign.

Maryann Rolle appears in the new Netflix documentary Fyre and said she could recoup losses she sustained after not being paid for her work on the flop festival.

Rolle, who runs the Exuma Point Resort, said: “[I] pushed myself to the limit catering no less than a 1000 meals per day”, draining $50,000 (£39,000) of her life savings.

The festival's founder Billy MacFarland is currently serving six years in prison for fraud.

It's from Dido's forthcoming album Still On My Mind - her first in five years - which comes out in March.

“It's a good break up song, where you’ve been hurt but feel strong," she said.

Azealia Banks has called Irish women "ugly" and accused airline Aer Lingus of banning her following a row on a plane.

The US rapper took to Instagram on Monday night after she got off a plane scheduled to fly from London to Dublin, where she is due to perform at The Academy venue tonight.

Aer Lingus said it had a "strict no tolerance policy towards disruptive guest behaviour".

In two videos on Instagram, Banks complained about the airline's staff and said they treated her "like an animal".

The singer has added to her nomination for original song with a place in the shortlist for best actress for her role in A Star Is Born.

The love story about a struggling musician is near the top with eight nominations in total.

Bohemian Rhapsody star Rami Malek has also been nominated for best actor for his depiction of Freddie Mercury.

That's one of five nods in total for the Queen biopic.

Both Gaga and Malek have been nominated for a Baftas this year too, while the latter has already won a Golden Globe for his performance.

The Oscars take place in Los Angeles on 24 February.

Lady Gaga is nominated for her hit song, Shallow, from A Star is Born.

It was co-written by superstar DJ/producer Mark Ronson and friends.

She's up against Kendrick Lamar and SZA's track, All the Stars, from Black Panther (which contains a swear word so we can't bring it to you here).

The Place Where Lost Things Go, as sang by UK actress Emily Blunt in the Mary Poppins sequel is also in there.

Perhaps Emily will go the other way to Gaga and now launch a pop career of the back of this?

Kendrick won the Pulitzer Prize last year so an Oscar would go nicely alongside that on the mantlepiece.

The brilliantly-named When a Cowboy Trades His Spurs for Wings, from The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, also gets a nod, as does the Diane Warren-written I'll Fight, from RGB - which features Jennifer Hudson on vocals.

The nominations for next month's Oscars are now being rolled out and the score for Black Panther (above) has been named on the list, alongside Spike Lee's Black KkKlansman.

Barry Jenkins' If Beale Street Could Talk is also in one of the two big music categories, as are the scores for Wes Anderson's Isle of Dogs and Mary Poppins Returns.

Alexandre Desplat - nominated for the animated Isle of Dogs - already has two Oscars to his name.

One name you won't find on there however is Thom Yorke, whose work on the horror flick remake of Suspirium is not nominated.

No we're not suggesting she is too lazy to do it herself.

But the US pop singer Bebe Rexha claims says she's having a hard time getting a custom dress for next month's Grammy Awards because designers say she's "too big".

The best new artist nominee claimed some of the designers she'd approached did not want to dress her because she's a size 8 (UK size 10).

"If a size 6/8 is 'too big' then I don't know what to tell you," Rexha said in an Instagram video, external.

"I don't want to wear your [expletive] dresses, 'cause that's crazy."

In a caption for the video, she wrote: "I'm sorry, I had to get this off my chest. If you don't like my fashion style or my music that's one thing. But don't say you can't dress someone that isn't a runway size."

Early last year, a mid-twenties independent London rapper made waves in the UK music scene after dedicating a few short-yet-powerful bars to the victims of the Grenfell Tower fire.

This year even greater things are expected.

You'd be forgiven here for thinking we were talking about Stormzy.

BBC Sound of 2019 listee Flohio, however, is tipped to be "holding it down" just like the Glastonbury headliner, in the very near future.

Flo, who like Stormzy puts music out on her own label, Alpha, tells Music News LIVE that she's happy with the association.

"It's sick man, he's the face of London right now - England, even," she says.

"He's setting boundaries with this whole ownership vibe that young people don’t know nothing about.

"As a person of colour, for someone doing that it's crazy.

"Glasto, can you even imagine that? The culture is so rich right now and I'm grateful and happy to be a part of it."

Just weeks after the big man's showstopping Brit Awards attack on the government over its handling of the tragedy which killed 72 people, Flohio - real name Funmi Ohiosumah - delivered her own lyrical homage to Grenfell in her track, Bands.

"I feel like people are gonna forget about Grenfell Tower," explains the 26-year-old, "and whenever you hear my song, that line is always gonna come out.

She adds: "On the anniversary [last June] I did a show and I performed Bands and after that line I had to stop the whole show and be like: 'We just need a minute's silence right now.'"

"It’s not just words, I'm not just writing lyrics, it’s real life.

"Whatever circumstances I’m always gonna hold my own and find my way out, but saying that mad love to the people who are mourning because it’s a true life story.

"It’s so sad it makes my heart feel heavy when I think about it."

Flohio was born in Lagos, Nigeria, but moved to London at the age of eight and later worked as a graphic designer before going full-time in the rap game.

She took early inspiration from the likes of Eve, Lil Wayne and 50 Cent and after developing her own raw, punchy-yet-poetic electronic style set about making it pay for her and those around her.

SE16 - "my magic number" - crops up regularly in her lyrics, denoting the Bermondsey postcode where Flo and most of her team live but also, conveniently, it's her birthday, 16 September.

"I wanted to have talent around me that I respect and I love," she declares.

"But obviously being the lab rat and testing it out on myself, seeing what doors I can open and what opportunities I can gain for myself and others.

"It’s not a hard thing to own your own label, all the resources are in front of you, so I was like 'why not?'

Bermondsey's finest, who was in the Netherlands over the weekend to perform at Eurosonic, is in no rush to serve up a debut album yet - instead giving us regular smaller dishes to feed on, like her most recent Wild Yout EP.

Describing herself as "a student of the game," Flohio takes influence from all manner of music - from rap to reggaeton via Hans Zimmer and even TV cartoons ("these melodies stay in your head"). She won't rule out singing, or at least "stretching my vocal cords", in the future either.

As a self-confessed "shy little baby", she claims to have only really found her voice after "not being up to par," in early open mic rap battles. But a combination of quick wits and a baby face soon saw 'Flo Flo' making a real name for herself.

"I was always going round open mics - 5 or 6 years ago - like 'damn, these guys are so good, why am I here?'" she confesses.

"But I think because I'm small and cute people allow me!

Now, having also been selected by fellow south Londoner, super model Naomi Campbell and Nike last year as one of the 10 Rising Female Stars Reimagining Our Future, external, the BBC Music Introducing-supported artist is unlikely to be underestimated because of her youthful looks ever again.

"I'm happy with my sound that I have now because it took me a lot to get this sound but I feel like I've still got a lot to do.

"I find it hard to be on stage sometimes or be in the studio to lay my vocals down and I'll be like: 'How did I come up with this?' But I'm getting used to it now.

"It's no longer a challenge now. It's more like 'how can far can we go with this? What’s the next level, what can I do?'"

Newbie Tuesday #60: Sea Girls fly the flag for 'urgent emotional' guitar music

Jeff Ament, the bassist with the influential Seattle grunge rockers has suggested in a new interview that new music from his band has been delayed by the Soundgarden singer's 2017 suicide.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, he said: "I think when Chris passed, that’s really been a tough one to wrap our heads around, and then there’s just life stuff.”

Cornell (pictured above with Pearl Jam singer Eddie Vedder) played alongside all Pearl Jam's members in bands including Soundgarden and Temple of the Dog.

Ament and bandmates, Matt Cameron and guitarist Stone Gossard recently paid tribute to the late star at a Los Angeles benefit concert.

He also helped provide the artwork for a Cornell box set, released after his friend's death.

"I think he appreciated my sensibilities when it came to that stuff, " he said.

For fans of Pearl Jam though, Ament says the band have been in the studio "four or five times in the last couple of years, so we have a whole ton of unfinished stuff.”

“We’re just sort of in a little bit of limbo."

It's been six years since their last album, Lightning Bolt.

Mere weeks after Susan Boyle made her triumphant return to television on the new America's Got Talent: The Champions series, another Brit star has taken to the stage.

Onetime mobile phone shop manager, Paul Potts - who was crowned the first ever BGT winner back in 2007, performed the beautiful Caruso for the judges including his old mentor Simon Cowell.

Since then, he has recorded four albums and was played in the 2013 movie, One Chance, by James Corden.

Still got a set of lungs on him.

The Dutch indie band have announced today that their first full length LP, Boat, will be with us on 31 May.

The Amsterdammers spent most of last year on the road with the likes of The Breeders, Franz Ferdinand and Garbage, so no doubt picked up a few rock 'n' roll recording tips.

We caught up with lead singer Pip ahead of their last UK gig at London's Lexington venue just before Christmas and she told us the new record - produced by Dave McCracken (Ian Brown, Sugababes) will follow on from their self-titled debut EP but this time with a slightly more progressive twist.

"I think... I hope it's like the next step," Pip tells MNL.

"It's still Pip Blom and you recognise it but everything is a bit more progressed.

She adds: "So yeah, it's gonna be a bit all over the place!"

Following on from Celine Dion earlier today (scroll down) another Canadian megastar has just announced details of his forthcoming UK and Ireland stadium tour.

He'll play two shows at Manchester Arena in March, followed by three apiece at Dublin's 3Arena and the Resorts World Arena in Birmingham, as part of his Assassination Vacation tour.

Clearly needing a break from writing killer tunes in the studio.

The UK leg culminates with six shows at London's O2 Arena in April.

Support will come from Tory Lanez and Radio 1 DJ Tiffany Calver.

Tickets go on sale on Friday.

It's the Oscar nom's today, which means lots of frantic typing and no doubt some (excited) shouting in the BBC News Entertainment office.

The two main awards that we're interested in from a music news perspective are for best original song and best score.

Although there may be some interest for music fans in the main acting awards this year given that Gaga and the Queen biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody, could potentially be in the running for various awards.

Lady G's performance in A Star is Born recently won her a Critics' Choice Award for best actress (jointly, alongside Glenn Close) and a Golden Globe for the song Shallow, from the same movie.

Meanwhile, the Freddie Mercury biopic took home Golden Globes for best film drama and best drama actor for its star, Rami Malek (above), who played the charismatic, late frontman.

Remember those two new Abba songs that we were promised for Christmas?

Well apparently we may have to wait until after the summer to hear them.

The tracks, I Still Have Faith In You and Don’t Shut Me Down, were recorded by the band for for a Virtual Abba show, which was due to be broadcast on the BBC at the end of last year.

In September, the group announced the project was delayed until 2019.

Now, according to a report in Variety, external, there will be “No release before the summer.”

The magazine also linked to an interview with Benny Andersson on fan site IceTheSite, external which suggested legal complications had delayed the release, though no specifics were discussed

In another chat with the site (above), Andersson said the group could record a third new song.

"The reasons we did the new songs was to put them in the new show," he said.

"Now when this show comes up these songs will be old because they [will have been released when the show launches].

The Canadian singer has revealed online his intention to work with the One Direction-turned- solo star.

Asked by a fan if they'd ever work together, the Irishman replied that they're "going to try".

Mendes, clearly more committed to the cause, hit back with: "We ARE going to!"

Former BBC Radio 2 DJ Simon Mayo is to lead the line-up on a new classical music radio station.

Mayo, who left his Radio 2 drivetime show just before Christmas, will host a mid-morning show on Scala Radio when it launches on 4 March.

The station will hope to win listeners from BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM.

Mayo said the digital station would be different to its rivals because "we're going all out to entertain, laugh with the listeners and have a good time".

He joked he was "on the BBC news site for the right reasons", having made the headlines last year when listeners complained about his pairing with former Radio 2 drivetime co-host Jo Whiley.

Anything Celine can do...

US hip hop legend Lauryn Hill has just announced two big UK gigs for 2019.

She'll headline the Nocturne Live concert series at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire on 21 June, when support will come from Laura Mvula and BBC Sound of 2019 listee Mahalia.

Last year, the star marked 20 years of her seminal album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill with an arena tour.

After the palace gig, she will then also headline the Love Supreme Jazz Festival in Glynde, East Sussex on Sunday 7 July alongside upcoming Super Bowl national anthem star Gladys Knight.

Tickets are on sale now for both.
