Okay, it's by no means definitive and we can't spot bassist D'Arcy Wretzky but three out of four ain't bad.

Singer Billy Corgan shared this picture of himself with drummer Jimmy Chamberlain and guitarist James Iha.

They haven't recorded an album together since 2000's Machina II/The Friends & Enemies of Modern Music.

Guess we should keep our ears peeled. Until then, here's a righteous blast from the past

The transition from writing songs to writing books is a well trodden one and with varying degrees of success.

A celebrated songwriter does not a celebrated author make.

For every Leonard Cohen and Louise Wener, there is a Morrissey and a Bob Dylan.

Writing in the New Statesman, John Niven said of Moz's debut novel The Lost of the Lost: "There's the alliteration. Dear God, there is the endless, arch, aimless alliteration."

    Ouch.

Here are some of the books and their pop star authors who have been rated or slated.

The Californian musician has teamed up with the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) on the video for Fix Me; the final track off his 13th album Colors.

The video follows a Japanese kid called Mame and her two loveable canine guardians, as they celebrate her birthday and generally hang out.

For director Brook Linder, the making of the video was a pretty spiritual experience.

He said: "There’s something really special happening in the mountains of Yamagata, and we were lucky enough to enter Mame’s world for two afternoons in November.

Regular readers will remember last week when Paul Cattermole, formerly of pop group S Club 7, took a punt and put his Brit Award up on eBay.

Well what an inspired move that proved to be as some determined bidder went as high as £65,900 for the trophy.

The 40-year-old wrote on twitter that he had put the item up for sale "on a wing and a prayer" and "had no idea the people cared as much as they do".

As with any auction like there there can be joke bids from fake bidders.

Apparently not this time though, as Paul told the NME, external the winning bid came from a fan on the other side of the globe, which makes his offer of a personal hand delivery a bit tricky.

Paul said: "I know that they live very, very far away. I know the guy - he’s a fan; I’ve seen his name on social media.

"The fact that it’s gone to a fan is awesome. But he’s well over a 10-hour flight away, so the hand-delivery situation is a bit difficult."

We're not saying the bidder has taken leave of his senses but here's a selection of sports cars , externalthat he could have had for that price...and still had £6k or so left over for dinner.

Paul also went on to tell the music mag that; "Not everyone in the band sees eye-to-eye."

What will the other six make of his big sale?

  9. Y Not festival will be back in 2018 with a new sitepublished at 13:12 GMT 17 January 2018

    Y Not Festival

The organisers of the Y Not Festival in Derbyshire have announced the event is on for this summer at a new site.

The festival was abandoned midway in July last year due to safety concerns after heavy rain.

Organisers said it had been an "incredibly difficult decision" but the state of the ground and stages had forced them to call time on the event.

This summer, the new site will be at Aston Hill Farm in Pikehall, which is adjacent to the previous site on Mouldridge Lane.

Organiseres say it will still take place in the "unbeatable setting of the Peak District" with clearer routes for festival goers and improved access for service vehicles.

"We’ve been working really hard to make sure that when you join us in July, it’s the best Y Not it can possibly be. And it seems like a good time to give you an update on everything," they said in a statement.

    Quote Message

The new position increases the suitability and improves the number of access points for vehicles. This means better access for service vehicles (when clearing waste), emergency and site vehicles, whilst also providing better access for festival goers arriving at the festival.

They also said new fencing for exposed areas of the site will be "taller and stronger".

The Y Not Festival will take place 27-29 July with a line up announcement to follow soon.

"This is painfully ironic, because the work itself is among the most emotionally direct that we have. There’s a reason everyone from film to funeral directors invariably relies on classical music when they want to ramp up the feels."
