The Brighton-based punks asked for women and non binary artists to apply to tour with them in the UK, Europe and the US and now apparently have to sift through more than 400 applications.

"This is incredible," they tweeted. "Got a lot of listening to do."

They previously told Music News LIVE they had a "responsibility" to help female fans "to feel safe and a have a good time" at their gigs.

  3. Bishop Nehru: The rapper whose album was inspired by a bad dreampublished at 15:29 BST 2 August 2018

    BBC 6 Music

Hip hop prodigy Bishop Nehru self-released his album Elevators: Act I & II earlier this year.

Apparently, it was inspired by a claustrophobic nightmare the 21-year-old New Yorker had about being stuck in a lift.

"I feel like maybe it was a sign there are lots of ups and downs," he told Lauren Laverne. "And you've just got to find the right floor."

Or perhaps that life can sometimes make you feel like you're going nowhere fast...

Anyway it's his dream, not ours - so check out his live session above including his track Get Away.

So Dave Grohl has dreamt up a 23-minute song that we can all hear and play along to as of next Friday.

Scroll down this page for more on that.

Thankfully down the years, the Foo Fighters frontman has also come up with plenty of great three or four-minute rock tracks.

Today's #TBT takes us all the way down Foos memory lane, via a mini-history of the Seattle band ahead of their long-awaited Glastonbury Headline set in 2017.

The gig was two years late due to Dave breaking his leg on stage a week before they were due to headline in 2015.

Following on from the Rihanna post yesterday, where she was talking to British Vogue about her love of her fuller figure, the Barbadian star's eye-brows have come under the spotlight.

Bad Girl Ri Ri's September Vogue cover, external shows the superstar with her eyebrows seemingly removed and ultra-fine, pronounced arches pencilled in their place.

It flies in the face (literally) of the bushy Cara Delevingne-inspired brows that have for so long been the beauty norm of the £20m brow industry, external.

But would women really ditch their carefully grown-out eyebrows for such a dramatic look?

"It feels really fresh and is such a big statement," says Rosie Green, beauty director at Woman & Home.

    Quote Message

It's such an amazing beauty trend that people can tap into with very little money - unlike many of the bags and clothes that are featured in Vogue.

  15. Music piracy is falling thanks to streaming servicespublished at 11:28 BST 2 August 2018

Beyonce and Jay ZImage source, Getty Images

Music piracy is falling out of favour as streaming services become more widespread, new figures show.

One in 10 people in the UK still use illegal downloads, but that is down from 18% in 2013, according to YouGov's Music Report.

The trend looks set to continue - with 22% of those who get their music illegitimately saying they do not expect to be doing so in five years.

"It is now easier to stream music than to pirate it," said one survey participant.

However, record labels remain concerned by the rise of "stream ripping" services which allow users to "grab" music from streaming services like YouTube and Spotify and store the file on their phone or computer.

One of this year's most-pirated albums is Beyonce and Jay-Z's Everything Is Love, which was initially released as an exclusive on Tidal.

We caught up with Stereo Honey a short while back to discuss their rapid rise.

The band only played their first gig together in April 2017 and attracted the interest of BBC Music Introducing in London with a series of releases, including latest track Don't Speak above.

Singer Pete Restrick's falsetto and introspective lyrics have drawn comparisons to that of a young Thom Yorke (no pressure then).

But Pete told MNL that it could easily have been so different, as he was initially the band's drummer before logistics forced him to come up front and find his voice.

"I've got a very weird high voice and I think it took a lot of convincing," he confessed.

"The lads had to sit me down and go 'it sounds good, you know'.

    Quote Message

I was doing the role of the lyric writer and I was like 'it's fine we can get a singer in and they can sing it - I can't sing'.

Talk about doing yourself out of a job...

New drummer Jake joked: "It was me in disguise!".

The road from the drum kit to the front mic is often a rocky one but one that multi-instrumentalist Pete seems to have navigated well so far - and with modesty.

"Phil Collins does it really well and I don't," he added.

"That's all I'm going to say about it!"

Check out another track, What Makes a Man (above) and find them in a field near you along with some more talented newcomers later this month.

You Me At Six have shared the new music video for their latest single 3AM.

It's one of the first tracks to be taken from the Surrey rockers forthcoming sixth studio album, VI, which is out on 5 October.

Frontman Josh Franceschi explained the cinematic inspiration for the video:

“The idea came from watching Wolf Of Wall Street," he said.

"In the film, there is a scene where the main protagonist (Leonardo DiCaprio) has a split reality when under the influence, of what he believes to be true and what is actually true.

"That just resonated with us. I worked quite closely with (video director) Dan Broadley as I found myself doing a lot of 'acting' in this video."

He added: "It was new, and a challenge, but he gave me the confidence to embrace it and also have the freedom to go off script."

Check out Josh's finest "acting" above and please drink responsibly.

The band head out on their Take off Your Colours 10 year anniversary tour in November.

Steppenwolf's Mars Bonfire recalls writing their classic Born to Be Wild

This year is the 50th anniversary of Born To Be Wild - one of the 20th Century's first heavy rock tracks.

It was recorded by Steppenwolf and reached no.2 in the US chart in 1968, a year later it was used in the film Easy Rider.

It was written by Canadian musician Dennis Edmonton, who went under the brilliant stage name Mars Bonfire.
