As we told you earlier, 'Cheeky Andy' was in the 1Xtra Live Lounge at lunchtime today.

The photos (above) confirm he was resplendent with sunglasses and hat indoors.

The Californian performed Smile from his last album, Oxnard, as well as deeper cut Heart Don't Stand a Chance, from 2016 album Malibu.

No cover though, which is a shame as we'd have loved to have heard him take on a bit of the Jonas Brothers but you can't have everything.

Anderson also revealed some huge special guests are expected to link up on his new album, Ventura.

"We’ve got young legends on the album such as Andre 3000," he said, "Smokey Robinson, Brandy, Jazmine Sullivan."

Read more about that and listen back to the show, presented by DJ Ace, now via BBC Sounds.

  15. Angry John Lennon letter goes to auctionpublished at 11:01 GMT 14 March 2019

    John LennonImage source, Getty Images

A letter written by the late Beatle, expressing anger towards his record label over an album released with wife Yoko Ono is to go on sale at an auction in Boston.

The letter, written in 1971, is expected to reach around £15,000 when bidding closes today - just a few days short of what would've been the couple's 50th wedding anniversary.

Lennon was shot and killed, aged 40, in New York City in 1980.

It's unclear whether the letter, addressed to “Martin George of Rock Ink”, is intended for Beatles producer George Martin or Ink journalist Martin George.

Referring to his and Ono’s experimental 1968 album Two Virgins (the one where they are naked on the cover), Lennon writes: “Yoko and I got Two Virgins out in spite of being past owners of Apple.

"We made it in May and they [messed] us about till November!

"Then E. M. I. (who have the real control) wrote warning letters to all their puppets around the world telling them not handle it in any way (this after Sir Joe [Lockwood, chairman of EMI] had told us face to face that he would do ‘everything he could’ to help us with it – and asking us for autographed copies!!).

A new documentary will tell the story behind American boy band mogul Lou Pearlman, who launched the careers of the Backstreet Boys and NSync before being jailed for 25 years over a massive $300m (£153m) fraud scheme.

He died in prison at the age of 62 in 2016.

In the first trailer for The Boy Band Con: The Lou Pearlman Story, former boy band members including Lance Bass and AJ McLean talked about how they were ripped off by the dodgy businessman.

“Things were going great for us, this was going to be our first cheque," says Bass.

“I open up the envelope, I see the cheque and oh my gosh, my heart sunk. I couldn’t believe the number I was looking at.”

That number then got progressively lower and lower...

  20. Michael Jackson 'innocent' adverts to be removed from busespublished at 09:24 GMT 14 March 2019

    BBC Newsbeat

    London busImage source, Anonymous

Transport for London (TFL) says it will be removing advertisements that proclaim Michael Jackson is "innocent" of claims of sexual abuse made against him in a new documentary.

The decision comes after a sexual assault victims' charity said it was "concerned" about the adverts on buses and bus stops.

The posters were put up in response to Leaving Neverland, in which the singer is accused of child sex abuse.

The adverts have been financed through a crowdfunding campaign and feature the slogan: "Facts don't lie. People do."

The Survivors Trust said the message could discourage victims of sexual assault from coming forward.

In a statement to Radio 1 Newsbeat, TfL said: "We have reviewed our position and will be removing these advertisements.

"They have been rejected due to the public sensitivity and concern around their content."
