The weekend has landed people.

UK rap star J Hus has been jailed for possession of a knife after being arrested in June.

The rapper, using his real name Momodou Jallow, appeared at Snaresbrook Crown Court.

The 23-year-old - who appeared on the BBC's Sound of 2016 list - was arrested on 21 June, close to Westfield shopping centre in Stratford in east London.

He was forced to pull out of performing at TRNSMT festival in Glasgow in July.

According to Newsbeat reporter Steve Holden, the judge said she recognised J Hus's “considerable talent” but that he had “failed to leave his past behind him”.

The court heard he had six previous convictions of 11 offences going back to 2011.

In a letter to the judge, he said his actions "were careless, ill-advised and utterly stupid".

“I am deeply sorry and regret my foolish actions," he added.

His debut album was Mercury-nominated in 2017.

2. Lindsey Buckingham said he's 'happy enough' with his Fleetwood Mac settlement

The Mac's former singer/guitarist has come to an agreement with his ex bandmates regarding his dismissal earlier this year.

Buckingham lost his job in January and was replaced by Mike Campbell from Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers and Crowded House's Neil Finn.

"I’m happy enough with it," he told the CBS This Morning programme (above).

"I’m not out there trying to twist the knife at all."

3. An ex Blink-182 man is making a sci-fi TV show

Singer/guitarist Tom DeLonge, who quit the Californian college rock band in 2015 to focus on UFO research, is making a TV series based on his graphic novel Strange Times, we discovered this week via Variety., external

Strange Times apparently follows “five dirty teenage skateboarders who solve paranormal mysteries while being chased by Deep State government agents."

In a press release, Tom DeLonge said, “My love for all things paranormal and skateboarding are sometimes only superseded by my love for offensive humour.

“This series combines them all into one.”

4. Taylor Swift was cast in the pur-fect Cats role

It was confirmed by Universal Pictures that shooting has started on the new all-star movie adaptation of the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical - directed by Les Miserables and The King's Speech's Tom Hooper.

Tay Tay, who was 29 on Wednesday, will play play Bombalurina, who is described as "a flirtatious red adult female cat with a white chest and black spots and marks".

The film will also star Jennifer Hudson as Grizabella, James Corden as Bustopher Jones and Idris Elba as Macavity.

Dunno about you lot but we're feline pretty good about that lineup.

5. Beyonce performed at someone's wedding

Before all you, ahem, single ladies get too jealous, by "someone" we mean the daughter of India's richest man.

The US megastar performed as part of the lavish festivities at the wedding of Isha Ambani, whose dad is business tycoon Mukesh Ambani. She married Anand Piramal, the son of another Indian billionaire, this week.

Beyoncé was one of many celebrities flown in, along with Bollywood stars and guests including Hillary Clinton.

Apparently Bey also does birthday parties and Bat Mitzvahs... for the right price.

This is the one fans of Carpool Karaoke have all been waiting for...

The New York rapper, who last week discovered she was nominated for five Grammys on her way out of court, is seen getting driving lessons off James Corden in the trailer for the upcoming Late Late Show Christmas special.

We don't think she's got the right shoes on though, judging by that reverse park.

New mum Cardi showed her maternal side when shouting out the passenger side window to a group of kids: "Stay in school, listen to your mom or you won't be getting no Christmas gifts."

Lady Gaga took to social media to wax lyrical about the cast of her Golden Globe-nominated A Star Is Born, after the film got four nominations for the Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Gaga and co-star and director Bradley Cooper (pictured above) are both nominated for their acting and the movie is also up for outstanding performance by a cast.

She said: "A real family was built with this cast".

Peter Murphy, the singer and founding member of the hugely influential goth rock band Bauhaus was apparently ejected from his own band's show in Stockholm on Thursday night.

In the video (posted below) the English singer, who - according to reports - seemed unhappy about his earpiece - appears to kick over a speaker and launch a bottle into the crowd.

Further footage from outside the show shows the 61-year-old singer in an altercation with the venue's security team.

Pitchfork reports, external that a since-deleted Facebook post on the venue’s event page claimed the show was cut short after “the artist acted in an unacceptable way towards the audience and our staff.”

The website also quotes guitarist Mark Gemini Thwaite, who said: “No arrests were made despite the press reports.

"It was venue security involved, not cops, as people assumed."

He added: "He [Murphy] was just sent to the hotel, as he was drunk.”

After more than 11 years, the 6 Music breakfast show host can finally turn off his alarm clock for good.

Keaveny hosted his final show live from Maida Vale as 6's Christmas party got under way.

BBC Radio 4's John Humphrys, who knows a thing or two about getting up early to present the Today programme, left a special message for Sean (below).

Greg James, who presumably listens back via the BBC Sounds app as he's now presenting the rival Radio 1 breakfast show at the same time, tweeted: "The grumpy [so and so] is one of my favourite radio presenters of all time.

"A genuine treat," adding that his final show "will be a shambles as always but I can't wait to hear it."

Following #BreakfastExit, Sean will return in the New Year with a new time slot of 13:00-16:00 GMT, meaning he'll be able to stay up beyond EastEnders.

Something to get you into the Christmas mood.

A 45-year old rare performance of a young Sir Elt performing his festive hit, Step into Christmas, on The Gilbert O’Sullivan Show on ITV.

It even features a rare cameo from his songwriting partner Bernie Taupin on percussion.

The single originally charted at number 24 in the Official UK Single charts but peaked at 11 last year when it made it on to his double compilation album, Diamonds.

Deadline Hollywood

The 20th Century Fox movie, telling the story of British rock legends Queen, is now the biggest music biopic of all time worldwide.

According to movie site Deadline, it's already made more than $608m (£483m) since its release in the UK in October and the US in November.

It's been nominated for two Golden Globes and two SAG Awards this week with lead actor Rami Malek widely-tipped for an Oscar nomination for his role as Freddie Mercury.

The film topped the previous biggest music biopic, Straight Outta Compton - which detailed the rise and fall of N.W.A.

What better way to start your pre-Christmas weekend than to listen to a 27-track album by the former One Directioner.

The running time is a meaty 89 minutes, which means you can listen to it in full while watching your favourite football team play on Saturday afternoon.

Or have it soundtrack your Sunday league game.

It's still a minute shorter than Drake's 25-track Scorpion double album released earlier this summer and The Beatles' White Album, which last month had its 50th birthday.

And they're all shorter than Olly Murs' double album, You Know I Know, in November which clocked in at 1 hr 31 mins.

BBC Radio 6 Music's album of the year, Joy as an Act of Resistance clocks in at 42 mins and 12 songs.

John Legend is among the artists who have paid tribute to three-time Grammy winner Nancy Wilson, who has died at the age of 81.

She died peacefully at her home after a long illness, her manager Devra Hall Levy said.

The jazz vocalist from Ohio made her debut with her 1961 single Guess Who I Saw Today.

Her biggest hit was in 1964 with (You Don't Know) How Glad I Am, which hit the Billboard chart at number 11 but also earned her a Grammy Award for best R&B recording.

John Legend called her a "magical performer," while jazz writer Nate Chinen called her "incomparable".

He wrote on Twitter, external: "The bell-like clarity of her tone, the unerring sense of phrase. Her rare gift for evoking a world of narrative possibility with a few lyrical gestures. Majesty and modernity, with suave to spare."

The singer's namesake - Nancy Wilson of US rock band Heart also tweeted her sympathies, saying "she did a great thing in the world".

While Ariana Grande's Imagine turned out not to be a cover of the famous John Lennon track of the same name, her good pal Miley Cyrus has covered the Liverpool rock 'n roll legend today.

She's put out a version of Lennon's 1971 hit Happy Xmas (War is Over), alongside his son Sean Ono Lennon and producer/DJ Mark Ronson.

“So, we went to Electric Lady [studios in New York] with Sean Ono Lennon and we got to cut War is Over," Cyrus told The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon.

“And so we’re also doing it on SNL- we want to do a Christmas song, and I don’t think anything could speak louder than what’s going on right now than about War is Over."

Speaking of working with the Beatle's offspring, she added: “I mean, he’s just such an incredible being to be in the room with because that magic just radiates and I have always loved John and Yoko.

"I’m such a big Yoko fan, and so it’s just been amazing to work with him and his voice is just so special.

Miley herself, of course, is the daughter of another famous singer in Billy Ray Cyrus, so she knows all about "inheriting the voice."

The lyric video for Imagine (not that one, Beatles fans) was released today.

It's the second track taken from Ariana's forthcoming fifth album, following the music streaming record smashing Thank U, Next.

The chrous goes like this:

She posted: "Guys, I know there are grown men arguing online rn [right now] but Miley and I dropping our beautiful, new songs tonight so if y'all could please just behave for just like a few hours so the girls can shine that'd be so sick thank u."

Ding ding - round 10.

The Chicago rapper has reignited his feud with the Toronto star in a series of frenetic tweets.

Kanye began by sharing a text he received from a music producer named Free, who wrote Drake's team had asked for permission to sample Ye on Say What's Real.

Alongside the below screenshot of the message, Kanye also wrote: "This proves [it's] faker than wrestling."

West then attacked Drake for rapping about his Yeezy footwear line and "trying to take food out your idol's kid's mouths".

He said he's been trying to meet Drizzy for six months before accusing him of "sneak dissing" him on songs by Travis Scott, who has a child with Kanye's wife Kim's sister, Kylie.

He also went on to address Drake's other heated feud with Pusha T, whose album West produced earlier this year.

It contained a track accusing Drake of not writing his own songs and he later followed it up with a single revealing the existence of Drake's secret son.

Kanye had been accused of being the one to tell Pusha about the child, but he denied it.

"It's all love bro but don't play with me," added Kanye.

"You stay too close to be playing all these industry games bro."

He later added that Drake had got in touch, following his latest online outburst and "threatened" him.

The south London borough, which counts Stormzy and Kate Moss among its famous former residents, has announced a summer festival for 2019.

The Ends Festival has confirmed rapper Nas - whose latest album was produced by Kanye West, and reggae star Damian Marley as headliners at the event in Lloyd Park.

Nigerian singer-songwriter Wizkid has also been announced to top the bill.

"This isn't a charity film," declares Stormzy at the start of a powerful new video on behalf of the victims of the Grenfell fire., external

"This is a clarity film."

Eighteen months on from the tragedy at the west London tower block that killed 72 people, musicians including the UK grime star, Adele, Marcus Mumford and rapper and poet Akala are standing with survivors and the bereaved to call for, not money or sympathy, but national change regarding the removal of "dangerous cladding" from buildings.

“Politicians can’t just let this fade away and leave everything to stay the same,” adds Akala, after the reveal that there are still 441 towers with the cladding that is believed to have fuelled the fire.

Stormzy, who closed this year's Brit Awards ceremony with an attack on the government for their handling of the situation - during his live TV performance - signs off with a poignant "never forget Grenfell".

The video ends with a plea from Adele, who was seen down on the ground on the day of the fire in June 2017, pleading for everybody to "be united for Grenfell" and pledge their support., external

Police are investigating a break-in at Sir Paul McCartney's house in London.

Thieves targeted his house in St John's Wood on the evening of 7 December.

It is unknown if Sir Paul was home at the time of the incident which happened days before he played a concert in his hometown of Liverpool.

No arrests have been made.

He's due to play London's O2 Arena on Sunday.
