Guess he was just following God's Plan.

We'll leave you with Radio 1 brekkie show host Camila's thoughts on why Beyonce/Jay-Z's daughter Blue Ivy was telling everyone to calm down during her own speech at The Grammys a few weeks back.

It seems the 6-year-old has got everybody running scared.

"The good does still far outweigh the appalling behaviour of the few whose actions have caused such harm."

    BBC Radio 1

    Media caption,

Grimmy tackles fresh rumours by asking Camila himself.

As far as conspiracy theories in pop music go, this is a wild one - but Radio 1 breakfast host Grimmy thinks he has the case cracked.

This morning was telling the Havana singer all about his theory that Adele and Sam Smith are the same person. Now, by the same sonic logic it follows that Camila herself, could in fact be a certain UK singer.

Have you ever seen them both in the same room?

"If A=B and A=C, then B=C" offers Camila.

    "That's like this math thing."

Drizzy treated shoppers to free groceries, gave toys to kids and donated a college scholarship to one student, as well as wads of cash to several families and a sports car to one lucky chap in the new video to God's Plan.

If only we'd been in Miami that day.

Little joke there for fans of early 90s video games.

Pharrell and co teamed up with the US's most in-demand rap group to perform a quickfire Justin Timberlake-esque half-time medley at the NBA All-Star Game in LA.

Turns out Quavo from the Georgia rapper is equally at home on the b'ball court as he is on stage, as he won MVP (most valuable player) at the All-Star celebrity game too, which also included the likes of previous winner Win Butler of Arcade Fire, Justin Bieber and Jamie Foxx.

So Win Butler had a fun weekend in LA by the looks of it.

As well as playing basketball with celeb all-stars like Quavo (scroll down) the Arcade Fire frontman indulged in a spot of karaoke too.

But what would he go for? Maybe a spot of Elvis... or a Tina Turner number. Maybe even fellow Canadian b'ball enthusiast Bieber?

Nope. He did one of his own tracks; Intervention from his 2007 album Neon Bible.

This is surely the musical equivalent of an electrician re-wiring a pub on a night out.

  14. Ride: Chemistry and creative tension key to comebackpublished at 11:41 GMT 19 February 2018

    Paul Glynn
    Music News LIVE reporter

    RideImage source, Getty Images

So, we heard nothing from Ride for over 20 years and now two records have come along at once... almost.

The Oxfordshire shoegaze specialists dropped their latest EP Tomorrow's Shore on Friday, ahead of a pre-world tour one-off UK gig at the University of London Union (ULU).

The release comes just seven months after their comeback record Weather Diaries and singer Mark Gardener told us all about the band's Indian summer.

"It's a new wave and we're riding it in a bit - excuse the pun!" said Mark.

"One thing's leading to another, we're just keeping it going.

"There's only one song; Catch you Dreaming, that was around on the time of the last album."

He added: "Anytime you make plans in bands, it never seems to work out.

"If you're on a roll you kind of go with it.

"In my mind with the reunion thing, it had to be about the fact we'd make some great new music and that's what was really driving it for me.

    Quote Message

It's the first time we've been able to record and do things again but not feel the pressure of the public looking at you or expecting anything, which we've never really had before.

    Ride

"So it was clever keeping things under wraps and gave us time to knuckle down and get into it.

"It's like new blood to me. I respect and love the old tunes and it's nice to see what they still do for people.

"But some reunion bands have really struggled with that and I think that is the ultimate test; if the chemistry is good again and the creative tension is still there you can come back and make good music.

Backstage at ULU, Mark recalled seeing some "inspirational" gigs himself as an art student back in the day, including My Bloody Valentine and The Pastels but said he would "always be envious" of bandmate Andy Bell for having seen The Smiths perform in the flesh.

After their own uni gig on Friday night, the band were all set to jet off to Japan; a place that once frightened Mark, but now enthralls.

"We we first went to Japan there were hundreds of of people waiting at the airport and hotel and no-one told us it was going to be like that.

    Quote Message

I would never have thought the music we made would've been a ticket to Japan.

"I found it really difficult to deal with at first but I love it now and I really love going over there."

Finally, as well as their own return, Mark remains optimistic about the future of other guitar bands.

"Music is still a magical, sacred thing to me and it's still working as far as I'm concerned.

"Alongside Ride, I do a lot of production work with newer younger bands and it totally vibes me up as you realise there's talent everywhere that's coming through.

"I'm always discovering new bands and people all the time which is great.

"It just works in a totally different way to how it used to - there used to be a lot of filters back in the day and there aren't anymore.

"With that comes a lot of things that aren't so great but loads of great stuff comes through."
