  2. 5 Things We've Learned This Weekpublished at 15:28 BST 15 June 2018

As we hurtle towards the weekend, let's pause for a moment to look back at some of the key things we've learned from around the music world in the past seven days.

We've had Rihanna showing off her new tattoo at the Ocean's 8 premiere, Shame taking gig abuse (but not themselves) seriously and Paris Jackson cleaning up the mess on [another] Michael Jackson's star.

But alas, they did not make it into our top five:

    1) Robbie Williams is football crazy.

    He's football mad.

Just ask Ozzy Osbourne and he'll confirm it (more from him later).

The former Take That star began the week by leading England to victory against a World XL in the latest edition of Soccer Aid.

Robbie didn't play this time, he was the manager but Olly Murs did and missed an absolute sitter. Not that it mattered though as they still got their hands on the shield and raised a lot of money for Unicef in the process.

Robbie then hot-footed it on a plane to Moscow where he performed tracks like Let Me Entertain You at Thusday's official opening ceremony ahead of Russia's first game win over Saudi Arabia.

By all accounts it was a flipping good show.

    2) Taylor Swift is a (fictional) home-wrecker

Following her big Manchester gig last weekend, where she praised the resilience of the city, the US singer then appeared in the role of the other woman in the dramatic new video for Babe, by country duo Sugarland.

The Mad Men-inspired video sees her as a flame-haired temptress who wrecks singer Jennifer Nettles' marriage.

It also stars Brendan Routh - he played Superman, remember, external? Here, he plays the unfaithful husband.

Nettles told People magazine, external, that Tay Tay - who also performs on the track - came up with the role for herself.

"She actually reached out to us and said, ‘I’ve got a great idea for the video'."

Here it is - but not for the faint of heart.

Ozzy Osbourne: Golden God win and battling hay fever at Download Festival

    3) The Prince of Darkness suffers with the high pollen count just like the rest of us

The annual Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards, external took place at the O2 in London on Monday evening.

It's fair to say the night belonged to one man, Ozzy Osbourne, who - fresh from headlining Download festival - collected the prestigious Golden God award.

Just before collecting the award, Ozzy told Music News LIVE what it meant to be recognised as godly two years running (having won it with his old band Black Sabbath the year before).

He also told us what his main issue was with playing Download... and it's not to be sniffed at.

    4) Kanye West, Deadpool and Celine Dion enjoyed an online love-in

How's that for an unlikely trio.

The Chicago hip hop star is a fully-paid up member of the Deadpool fan club.

However, this week he politely pointed out that some of the tracks in the anti-superhero film series sounded a little familiar.

Deadpool aka Wade Winston Wilson himself - or at least the actor who plays him, Ryan Reynolds - responded saying he agreed and that he'd have a word with his pal Celine Dion.

Celine, who sings Ashes from the movie sequel, went a step further suggesting they get the rapper involved for a" Yeezy remix".

    Can you imagine?...

Stormzy joined the mourners for the service at the base of Grenfell Tower

    5) Grenfell will not be forgotten

One year on from the tragedy that saw 72 people lose their lives in the tower block fire, music stars like Stormzy and Adele joined the many mourners at a special memorial service.

Adele was seen singing along with the gathered masses to the Bill Withers heartfelt ballad, Lean on Me.

Other singers, such as Dua Lipa, Pete Dohery, Lily Allen, Mabel and more also posted their love and support online.

Dua posted the below image of the Tower, clad in green, with the caption; "Forever in our hearts."

The pop punk band are postponing two Vegas shows while drummer Travis Barker recovers from blood clots.

They began their residency at the Palms Hotel and Casino in May.

Tonight's (June 15) show and Saturday night (June 16) are now off.

In a statement, the band said Barker is "suffering from blood clots in both arms and unfortunately cannot perform until cleared to do so by his medical team".

He added: "Drumming is my life and it kills that i can’t perform for you guys this weekend."

In 2008, he was seriously injured in a plane crash which killed four.

We're finding it hard to keep up with Kanye of late:

    1. First he had a famous Wyoming album playback party for his own new album Ye
    2. Then a spate of subsequent events in random spots around the States to mark the release of his collab record with Kid Cudi.
    3. Now he's thrown a party for the new Nas record that he produced, in his rapper pal's hometown of Queens in New York City.

Check out the vibes above and some pics from wife Kim Kardashian-West below.

All good things must and do come to an end.

The Irish 'boy'band have announced they are to split after releasing a "final" album and staging a farewell tour.

"We all feel that we should now call time on our lives together as Boyzone and go out on a real high," said the group in a statement.

Formed in 1993, they had UK number ones with such hits as Words, No Matter What and All That I Need.

In advance of their Thank You & Goodnight album, out in November, the band have released a new track called I Can Dream, which features vocals by much-loved band member Stephen Gately - who died in 2009.

You've all read today's headlines so time for some more new music we think - starting with The Kooks.

Fractured and Dazed is taken from their forthcoming album, Let's Go Sunshine.

Singer Luke Pritchard said:’The song is kind of a forlorn song about holding onto love when you probably know you should let go but you still hold on anyway’’.

Love has no safety net kids.

Another artist who is experiencing pain - this time of the growing variety - is Alessia Cara.

The US singer won best new artist at this year's Grammys, which caused a bit of a backlash as her debut album came out way back in 2015 and many thought that newer stars like Khalid and SZA were more deserving.

Never-the-less, you can't keep a good woman down and you can check out her new single below.

  10. Why Chromeo have shaved their legs in a post #MeToo worldpublished at 12:23 BST 15 June 2018

Spot the odd one out (above).

Canadian electro-funk duo Chromeo have been telling Music News LIVE about why they've ditched the pair of disembodied woman's legs which have been synonymous with the band for nearly 15 years and five albums.

The band release their latest effort, Head Over Heels, today, a "polyphonic love letter to funk music", according to singer and guitarist Dave 1.

"I shaved [my legs] in my bathtub," he says explaining the new cover (top-right - in case you hadn't spotted it).

"We were like, 'We don't want to use this image any more of female legs. No more putting forth a female body-type as part of some kind of iconic imagery, we want to take responsibility for a symbol that's been associated for us for ten years."

Dave says that in a post #MeToo world, Chromeo want to be part of the conversation rather than part of the problem.

"There is a sensitivity around a lyrics too, I just think we have the responsibility to be extra sensitive and extra aware.

    Quote Message

There's only so much I can use Helmut Newton and Guy Bourdin as crutches like, 'Oh this is retro, it's a nod to 80s photography, to 70s erotica, that's cool but let's see what Chromeo looks like today.

The real question though, is how he managed to attain those pins.

"Contour make-up, there are apparently leg contourists that do a lot of actresses for red carpets and stuff. Who knew right? We know nothing."

The unabashed joyful funk of Head Over Heels features guests slots from the likes of rapper French Montana and Brit dancehall star Stefflon Don, newcomer Amber Mark and Gorillaz and Diplo collaborator D.R.A.M in Must've Been (above).

But it also features music and production from the likes of Rodney Jerkins, bassist Pino Palladino and The Time's Jessie Johnson.

It's an impressive line-up and one which helps the band sidestep thorny accusations of cultural appropriation, which has smeared other successful funk peddling artists like Grammy-winner Bruno Mars.

"We have all the co-signs, they're on this album from DJ Quick to Jessie Johnson, [Janet Jackson's producer] Jimmy Jam DMs us every week on Instagram.

"I don't think anyone can say we're appropriating anything, we're not re-appropriating a culture that's not ours, we're paying homage to a culture that changed our lives.

"I don't have an afro and a Rick James outfit, I dress how I dress, [bandmate P-Thugg] P dresses how he dresses. We're Chromeo but funk music changed our lives and left a mark.

    Quote Message

For me, some of the lyrics that Bruno can sing, I know I couldn't pull that off. Versace on the Floor? It works for him because he has the vocal chops to back it up, he's a beast, but I couldn't pull that off.

Songs like Bad Decision and Juice (You got the juice / That's why I keep pressin ya / Pressin ya), while bordering on obsession have enough goofy charm to not sound overly creepy.

It's that sense of self-deprecating humour and irreverence, which runs throughout the band's back catalogue, which could be make it hard to take Dave and P seriously.

But Dave insists he's happy to soak up any criticism as long as people are enjoying the music.

    "That's fine, I come prepared.

"There's intelligent comedy and there's stupid comedy and we always wanted to do the highbrow, lowbrow stuff, like, I love the idea that a song like Juice has a goofy, silly chorus but at the same time it's got Pino Palladino playing bass.

"The humour in Chromeo is not just a punchline, it was an antidote for indie music that was trying to be too jaded and too cool and mainstream music that was just too boring and too vanilla.

I'm cool if they don't take us seriously, I just want them to enjoy it, if certain songs make you laugh then great, if they make you want to nerd out and talk about synthesizers, that's fine too. There are many ways to enjoy things.

Given that the lyrics to Bed include the refrain: "Thousand dollar sheets / Waiting for you on some thousand dollar sheets", it seems there's a theme developing here.

She obviously doesn't shop in the same places we do.

The LA metal rockers were handed the prestigious award by King Carl XVI Gustaf (above left), after some glowing words from British rock legends Deep Purple, at a ceremony in Stockholm.

Danish drummer Lars Ulrich and bassist Roberto Trujillo were on hand to accept the award

Lars (above centre) - with a nod to fellow winners Ahmad Sarmast and The Afghanistan Institute of Music - said: "Who would have thought, when Metallica started this musical journey 37 years ago, that one day we would be standing in front of both musical royalty and actual royalty, accepting one of the most prestigious prizes that can be bestowed upon musicians.

"The type of music that we play was not supposed to be acknowledged or embraced by the mainstream, the media, or even large audiences.

From the beginning, we always felt like outsiders. We always felt like somehow we were not good enough, not cool enough to be accepted by a general music audience. We found strength and solace in the little bubble we occupied way out in left field.

The an unexpected thing happened. The mainstream audience began moving closer and closer to the area where the musically disenfranchised like ourselves were hovering. And about 10/15 years later, we found ourselves right in the middle of that very mainstream which we had felt so vengefully ostracised from.

He added: "Receiving this prize solidifies the idea that no matter how alienated you feel, connecting to other people through music is not only possible but can be outright inspirational and life changing."

    Inspiring stuff.

Swedish hard rockers Ghost also paid tribute to the band with a rather intense cover of their classic Enter Sandman.
