  2. The 1975 regret 'Too Timing' someonepublished at 15:50 BST 8 August 2018

    Uh oh...

TooTimeTooTimeTooTime will apparently be the second single taken from The 1975’s forthcoming third album, A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships.

The lyrics describe a suspicious/jealous relationship and lots of texts that perhaps shouldn't have been sent.

Wonderland magazine shared a photo of an actual, printed-on-paper press release revealing the song would be out on 15 August.

Now that's what we call a throwback.

Newsome was one of four men charged with the murder of the rapper - who died in June - but remained at large until he surrendered to police at his lawyer’s office in Fort Lauderdale on Tuesday.

He is the last of four suspects to be taken into custody, after the previous arrests of Michael Boatwright, Robert Allen and Dedrick Williams.

They are charged with first-degree murder with a firearm and armed robbery.

  4. J.Cole drops 'Album of the Year'published at 15:37 BST 8 August 2018

    J.ColeImage source, Getty Images

That's indisputably the name of the new freestyle track by the US rapper.

It sees J spit bars over Nas and the Bravehearts' Oochie Wally and references Cole's latest album, KOD - which went to number two in the UK earlier this year - as well as some Arctic Monkeys-esque intergalactic activity.

    The 33-year-old raps:

Reporting to you live from the International Space Station / I probably vacation on Mars / The flow is out of this world and so is the bars / Blow the facade right off of your squad / Lil rappers, I love you, but you ain’t [nothing] til you got offers in Prague.

You'll have to find it elsewhere, though, due to some of the language involved. Google is your friend.

We know that's been on your minds a lot, so good that it's out in the open.

The Wirral Riddler has been on 5 Live today talking new music, around the launch of his new album, Coup De Grace, which drops on Friday.

The singer/guitarist has been talking Nihal Arthanayake through his continuing musical evolution - but politely turned down the presenter's suggestion of a collab with rapper Kano.

Nihal was working backwards from the artist billing on that one, wasn't he?

Meanwhile Kane's Last Shadow Puppet pal Alex Turner of the Arctic Monkeys has been discussing someone that he WOULD like to collaborate with.

Alex told Beats 1's Matt Wilkinson he'd be keen to collaborate with Tame Impala's Kevin Parker, who has recently worked with the likes of Lady Gaga, SZA and Travis Scott.

“I’d love to float with Kevin…" said Alex. "Let’s float Kev.”

Only if you can get him to finish the new Tame Impala record first, Alex, OK?

  7. Sister Sledge are getting the biopic treatementpublished at 14:43 BST 8 August 2018

    Sister Sledge

Disco legends Sister Sledge have just announced they're bringing the band's story to the big screen.

Kim Sledge - the second-youngest sister - has been developing the project about the band's rise to stardom and the backlash they faced from the racist "Disco Sucks" movement.

She spoke to BBC 6 Music's Clare Crane about the project - and how music still had the power to heal divisions.

    Listen to the interview here.

    Dua Lipa

Dua Lipa has been discussing her upcoming single with Silk Road - the dance music side-project of Mark Ronson and Diplo.

“We did a song together that I’m again really excited about,” the singer told Rolling Stone, external.

“It’s got some throwback elements to it; it’s dancey; it’s still a pop song. It’s something different, but it does lead into some of new music that I’m going to bring in my albums."

Speaking of which, Dua said she was six months into recording sessions for her second album - which is due for release in 2019.

Earlier this year, she told the NME she'd been "listening to a lot of Outkast and Prince" while writing. Which shouldn't come as a surprise... she once told us she could recite all of Chance The Rapper's Acid Rap mixtape verbatim.

Which is something we'd pay to see, now we think about it.

Pop star Pink has postponed a fourth show in Sydney after being laid low by a stomach bug.

The star, who was rushed to hospital immediately before her sound check on Monday, said she had been discharged, but needed some extra time to recuperate before resuming her tour.

"A lot of you know how physical my shows are," she said in an Instagram message.

"I don’t just stand in front a microphone and sing. I flip, dance, fly, harness, silk, and scream my way through a total [expletive] show of awesomeness."

She thanked her supporters as well as staff at inner-city Saint Vincent’s Hospital for their care - and vowed to return to the stage on Saturday night.

She also had a message for the paparazzi - who snapped pictures of her on an Australian beach after postponing her first show last week, implying that she was lying about her illness.

"Our next show will be Saturday, and until then I will be drinking green tea, and spending time with my kids.

"That’s a warning to paparazzi, you might actually see me walking upright outside of my hotel room cage with two little children, and another warning: I might even smile. Not too much, though.

"I’ll try to control the smiling."

  12. First virtual reality Prom will take audiences to the trenchespublished at 13:08 BST 8 August 2018

The walls of the Royal Albert Hall will dissolve and set audiences on an immersive journey into the trenches of the First World War as part of the first ever Virtual Reality Prom.

The 25-minute VR experience will set new visuals to Anna Meredith's Five Telegrams, which premiered on the First Night of the Proms season last month.

The centrepiece is the second movement, Nothing To Be Written, which takes an emotive look at the postcards soldiers sent home from the front-line.

Viewers will be transported from the horror of the trenches to the eerily quiet homes where families wait to hear from their loved ones; as the BBC Symphony Orchestra provides the soundtrack.

About 400 Prommers will put on VR headsets for the world premiere on 21 August; and the film will be released for home users later this year.

  14. George Harrison's final Cavern Club gig guitar could fetch £400k at auctionpublished at 12:38 BST 8 August 2018

Money Can't Buy You Love - but it can buy you the guitar that George Harrison was photographed with during their final appearance at Liverpool's Cavern Club in 1963.

You'll need quite a lot of the green stuff, though. The Australian-made Maton Mastersound MS-500, is expected to fetch in the region of £300,000 to £400,000 when it is sold at auction in Wiltshire next month.

The six-string was played by Harrison during the summer of 1963 while his regular guitar was being repaired and he was apparently so taken with it he continued to use it for more performances.

After the late Beatle returned the Maton guitar to the repair shop, it was bought by Roy Barber, the guitarist with Dave Berry And The Cruisers, who went on to have hits with Memphis, Tennessee and The Crying Game.

The auction comes a month after Sir Paul McCartney rolled back the years last with a surprise comeback appearance at the Cavern ... and told fans off for filming on their phones.

We love this video by the US grunge indie icons for two main reasons:

    1. It's artistic and creative, and...
    2. It's really thrifty.

Nervous Mary sees a pair of headbanging puppets replace rock 'n' roll sisters Kim and Kelley Deal (until the very last scene).

A fan of the band from Finland, Milla Risku, made the puppets, and the video was shot on tour stop while in Nijmegan, Holland.

A war of words broke out between the two in 2013, when Kimmel mocked Kanye's interview with Radio 1's Zane Lowe., external

The extraordinary, hour-long interview saw West declare himself the “number one rock star on the planet”, and saying: “I’ve reached a moment in life where my Truman Show boat has hit the wall."

  18. Paul Simon tweaks his old songspublished at 11:05 BST 8 August 2018

    Paul Simon

Paul Simon is a man of few regrets but - just like that mustache - there are a few songs he wishes he'd considered more carefully.

So that's exactly what he's doing with his new album In The Blue Light, which revisits 10 tunes from his back catalogue with a range of musicians including jazz trumpeter Wynton Marsalis and The National's Bryce Dessner.

"This album consists of songs that I thought were almost right, or were odd enough to be overlooked the first time around,” he explained.

“Re-doing arrangements, harmonic structures, and lyrics that didn’t make their meaning clear, gave me time to clarify in my own head what I wanted to say, or realise what I was thinking and make it more easily understood.”

Ahead of the record's release, he's shared a new take on One Man’s Ceiling Is Another Man’s Floor, which originally appeared on his 1973 release There Goes Rhymin’ Simon.

You'll be glad to hear he hasn't reworked it as a jackhammer thrash metal song... although we'd like to hear that too.

  19. Carrie Underwood ignites fertility debatepublished at 10:32 BST 8 August 2018

    Carrie Underwood

Country star Carrie Underwood has triggered a heated debate after saying she's too old to have a big brood.

“I’m 35, so we may have missed our chance to have a big family,” she told Redbook magazine, external. “We always talk about adoption and doing it when our child or children are a little older.”

While Underwood was speaking strictly about her own family - and certainly wasn't ruling out the possibility of having children in her 30s - some fans had their own views.

"Carrie, you can still have babies at 35," wrote one, external. "Women are having babies later in life than your mother Carol’s generation."

"She never said she definitively couldn't," replied Lucie, external. "She said: I’m 35, so we may have missed our chance... Since fertility DOES decrease as women age, this is just TRUE."

On Carrie's Facebook page, one user added: "I had my 3 children at 32-36 and, yes, 40. It has been the greatest blessing I could ever have asked for. It is not bad to have children over 35. It’s awesome."

Here are some of the other responses.

Mel B has finalised her divorce from Stephen Belafonte, bringing an end to an acrimonious split.

A judge in Los Angeles ordered the former Spice Girl to pay $350,000 (£270,000) of her ex-husband's legal fees - as well as a monthly sum of $5,000 (£3,800) in child support for their six-year-old daughter Madison.

The couple split in 2017, with Mel B accusing Mr Belafonte of being physically and emotionally abusive towards her and her children.

Those allegations, which he denied, were dropped during the court case. However, the couple agreed to stay 200 yards away from each other after Judge Mark Juhas threw out a restraining order they had each tried to put on the other.

Exceptions will be made for Madison's school events, including extra-curricular activities and teacher conferences, after the couple agreed to share custody.
