"When I look back now, thank ... we didn't.

    The Guardian

    It's #WorldMentalHealthDay today.

With that in mind, one of the world's biggest pop stars has been calling out for greater help for those in need and for an end to the stigma surrounding mental health issues.

In a joint article in The Guardian, alongside the World Health Organisation’s Dr Tedros Adhanom, Lady G wrote: "By the time you finish reading this, at least six people will have killed themselves around the world.

“Those six are a tiny fraction of the 800,000 people who will kill themselves this year - more than the population of Washington DC, Oslo or Cape Town."

She added: "At present, every nation in the world is a ‘developing’ country when it comes to mental health."

Earlier today, it was announced a minister for suicide prevention has been appointed in England as the government hosts the first ever global mental health summit.

“Everyone says ‘you have a platform,’ but what do they mean? Because my records are buried because of the labelled issues with me.”

She added: “Sometimes it’s just ’cause I’m an outsider that doesn’t fit in with the diversity of America… all of that is just not digestible.

“If I want to be bigger, I kind of have to say nothing.”

  19. Lana Del Rey and Azealia Banks involved in furious Twitter rowpublished at 10:09 BST 10 October 2018

Lana Del ReyImage source, Getty Images

While sticks and stones make break your bones (and potentially smash up a Paris airport) words are what really hurt you.

Lana Del Rey's feud with Azealia Banks escalated quickly last night, as the pair traded pretty nasty - and in some parts threatening - insults online.

The argument seems to have stemmed initially from Azealia taking umbrage at Lana calling out Kanye West for his support of Donald Trump.

"Don’t use Kanye for your own vapid attempts to seem politically aware when there is SO MUCH MORE bootleg witchcraft you could be doing to TRY and take down 45,” wrote Banks.

“Kanye is not your enemy or THE enemy.”

Lana hit back saying: “U know the addy. Pull up anytime. Say it to my face. But if I were you - I wouldn’t."

Unhappy with Lana's apparent threat, Azealia then replied: "I'm talking to my lawyer", which brought the following subsequent response:

    Gulp.

It all got pretty nasty about Lana's appearance and Azealia's mental health so we've decided we won't bring their tweets here on Music News LIVE.

It's not the time or place.

We hope they sort it out as there's clearly an underlying respect there, as evidenced by the fact that Lana told Azealia: "U could been the greatest female rapper alive but u blew it.

"Don't take it out on the only person who had your back."
