Karen O (born Karen Ozelek) and guitarist Nick Zinner put the band together in the late nineties, and the pair who originally performed as a folk duo shortly recruited Brian Chase as a drummer and set about honing their unique 1970s New York post punk sound.

Iconic moments for the band include shooting their video for ‘Despair’ atop the 86th-floor viewing platform of the Empire States Building – even more so collaborating with the James Murphy of the late, great LCD Soundsystem for their latest album.

Karen O is one of rock's true originals and is known for her outrageous outfits and unhinged vocals, and she did not disappoint in Tuts.
