Noah and the Whale (NATW) are a five piece indie folk / rock band formed in Twickenham in London in 2006. They consist of Charlie Fink (vocals, guitar), Tom Hobden (Violin/keys), Matt "Urby Whale" Owens (bass guitar), Fred Abbott (guitar/keys), and Michael Petulla (drums).
In the band's early years BRIT award-winning artist Laura Marling was a member and she appeared on their album debut Peaceful, the World Lays Me Down. Fink and Marling's break up provided the inspiration for the follow up - The First Days of Spring - which saw the band change their musical and lyrical direction.
Now onto their fourth studio album "Heart of Nowhere" NATW are renowned as much for the films they make to accompany their releases as they are for their blistering live sets. The band raised the roof at their last T in the Park performance in 2011, ending with their 2008 hit Five Years Time and their return to T is sure to set the heather alight with their infectious tunes.
