Fat Goth
Sun 14 Jul 2013 BBC Introducing Stage
Supported by BBC Introducing in Scotland

This three-piece from Dundee originally formed in 2007 with drummer Mark Keller, guitarist/vocalist Fraser Stewart and their old school friend Allan Mitchell on bass. After releasing their debut album Mindless Crap in 2010 and a subsequent EP, Mitchell left the band and was swiftly replaced by Kevin Black.

Since releasing their second album Stud to an array of complimentary reviews, Fat Goth have created an entertaining sound which focuses not only on alt-rock but also the ability to inject humour into their songs. It is perhaps Q Magazine who have summed up Fat Goth’s sound most succinctly as ‘dirty-garage-punk riffs, low slung surf-rock basslines, urgent, broken tannoy vocals, and twinkle-eyed mischievous lyrics.’ You can’t really go wrong with that.

In 2013 Fat Goth have appeared in Kerrang!, The Skinny and The Daily Record. BBC Radio Scotland’s Vic Galloway has also championed the band along with BBC Introducing go-to guy Ally McCrae.
