SOAK, known to her friends as Bridie Monds-Watson, is an 19-year old singer/songwriter from Derry. Her delicate tales of adolescence, family and friendship have won widespread praise since she started performing aged 14.
She is living proof that age need not define artistic maturity. Despite spending the last few years split between her local skate-park, her studies and her songwriting, it is clear that the latter is where her heart truly stands. SOAK has a raw talent for writing and when combined with her unique, easy-listening and melodic voice, it’s really no surprise that she’s been picking up some high profile fans since her rise in 2012.

She played live on the BBC Introducing stage when Radio 1’s Big Weekend came to her hometown in 2013. Further radio support then came from Huw Stephens, Phil & Alice and Zane Lowe. CHVRCHES and fellow Introducing artist George Ezra asked her to join them on their UK tours. Last year we invited her to perform on our stage at Glastonbury and 2015 has started with a much an inclusion on the BBC Sound Of longlist.
