Young Trad Finalist 2014

Mhairi was inspired to play the fiddle having grown up immersed in the culture of Scottish Traditional Music. Her first teacher was James Alexander MBE who is still a great influence and inspiration. Playing with the Fochabers Fiddlers, directed by James, widened and developed Mhairi’s traditional style. She was recently awarded a BA in Applied Music with First Class Honours from Strathclyde University and was taught by Alistair McCulloch throughout her degree.
