  1. Farewell five-a-siderspublished at 18:45

Well, the 57 hours plus Fergie Time™ of fussball have come to an end. It's been a pleasure and a joy and a mammoth ordeal. But utterly worth it for the huge sums you have helped raise for Sport Relief 2016. Thank you.

And thanks for all your comments - we're glad you enjoyed it as much as we did. Who knew that watching ordinary men, women and children hoof a ball around for three days could be such compelling viewing...

  2. Live now: 606published at 18:34 GMT 5 March 2016

Robbie is hotfooting it back to the 606 studio. You can listen live at the top of this page. As the losing captain, you won't have to hear him gloat either. You may have to listen to disgruntled Newcastle and Everton fans though.

  3. £370,592 raisedpublished at 18:30 GMT 5 March 2016

Kevin Cahill, CEO of Comic Relief - who scored a few lovely goals earlier today - has revealed the total raised over the last three days.

Given the terrible weather and the incredible spirit players encountered throughout the challenge, the Premier League is now turning every pound donated by the public into a crisp fiver.

They have also donated thirty thousand pounds on behalf of the winners Team Shearer and twenty thousand pounds on behalf of Team Savage.

The total so far stands at a magnificent £370,592 and rising. You can still donate so if you haven't, it's not too late to make a difference.

  4. The presentation ceremonypublished at 18:26 GMT 5 March 2016

Jason Mohammad is the master of ceremonies, Gary Lineker is down there too, and he hands Rachel Riley her trophy for completing her 12 hour marathon. He's sounding a bit croaky, we hope he recovers in time for MOTD later this evening.

"Shearer, Shearer, Shearer" chants the 'capacity' crowd as Alan is officially crowned the winner of the Sport Relief Battle of the Five-A-Sides.

    Quote Message

My back, my thighs, my knees - they're all in bits but it was all worth it

Alan Shearer, Battle of the Five-A-Sides winning captain

  5. Blimey O'Riley, it's all overpublished at 18:23 GMT 5 March 2016

    Shearer 5s 547-529 Savage 5s

The full time whistle (and it really is the final whistle this time) hands victory to Team Shearer by 18 goals. It also means that Rachel Riley finishes her monster shift. She joins Alan, Robbie, McFly's Danny Jones and Union J's Josh Cuthbert in the elite group to play 12 hours straight over the three days. Congratulations to all of them. Amazing effort.

    Final score

  6. Shearer scorespublished at 18:20 GMT 5 March 2016

    Shearer 5s 547-528 Savage 5s

Inevitable. The gimlet eye. The deadly finish. The hand in the air.

We have no idea when this will end. We are deep deep deep into Fergie time. My chewing gum is completely tasteless.

  7. And the band played onpublished at 18:17 GMT 5 March 2016

We have an encore. Savage, Shearer, Riley et al are carrying on.

    Another 57 hours anyone?

The final whistle sounds. Team Shearer win... or do they... we're being told that there WILL be some Fergie time.

  9. The final countdownpublished at 17:14

Oh come on, how could we resist? With 30 seconds of normal time left (not sure if the term 'normal' can be applied to a 57-hour football match?) here's something to keep Rachel Riley motivated right to the very end of her 12-hour stint.

    Starts this coming Monday

No sooner does one challenge end then another begins.

Alex Jones, Hal Cruttenden, Ore Oduba, Angellica Bell, Doon Mackichan and Suzi Perry are attempting to sail from Belfast, 1,000 miles around a section of the UK. Casting off on Monday 7 March, and with five days to complete the journey, the days will be long, the work will be hard and the water will be freezing. Will they be able to cope?

You'll be able to follow their progress live at BBC Sport Relief from midday this Monday.

And there's running man Eddie Izzard who's still truckin' in South Africa as he attempts 27 marathons in 27 days.
