    As our towns and cities sprawl out into the countryside, our gardens are becoming more and more vital as wildlife reserves of the future. We want to map the resources available for wildlife in gardens up and down the country, and find out which wild visitors they attract.

    From the heathery floors of veteran Caledonian pinewoods, to the rolling whaleback summits of the Cairngorm mountains, spring has arrived in one of the richest areas for wildlife in the British Isles and Springwatch is here to join in the celebrations. Our home is the Dell of Abernethy, encircled by the dark-green pines of Abernethy Forest with stunning views of the high tops still whitened with snow.
