Julia was dragged up north by husband Jules Bellerby more than a decade ago and has never looked back.

"I've lived in York as long as I've lived anywhere and it's definitely my home now. It's also without a doubt the best place I've ever lived."

Before coming to work as a presenter at BBC Radio York, Julia was a radio and television reporter and presenter in London and East Anglia.

She took the decision to leave television behind and go back into radio after the second of her three daughters was born, saying she realised her days of being almost famous were over when someone in a supermarket once asked her...."Didn't you used to be Julia Booth?"

Since October 2001 Julia has been co-presenting with her husband Jules. Their programme - Jules and Julia - is on air Monday to Friday from 12noon until 2 o'clock.

She doesn't think they're a bit like Richard and Judy: "we probably argue a whole lot more than they do... and I tend to keep my top on when we go on air."

As well as bringing up three daughters and working for the BBC in North Yorkshire Julia has trained to be a counsellor at York St. John College.
