Hi there, I'm Graham McGarry. As Sports Editor at BBC Radio Stoke, its my duty to make sure everyone in the Sports Department continues to do a first class job.
Known in here as the "Silver Fox", this year could see the captain putting his feet up, as we have a good squad of able seamen who are well capable of producing the goods without orders from the skipper. Our new mainline presenter John Acres has slotted into the side seamlessly, we have supersub Phil Bowers, who's also following Port Vale up and down the country. With our Stoke City coverage we are also blessed with Nigel Johnson, one of the most professional commentators around.
After a short stint in the presenters chair, I'm back with Crewe Alexandra for the rest of the season and there's plenty of nice away trips to look forward to. Five hour drives to Plymouth, and congestion charges for Millwall and Crystal Palace etc. Good job the expenses are good! Once again its a BIG THANK YOU to you the listener who make our audience figures simply the best, and have reaffirmed the fact that we provide the best sports coverage in North Staffordshire and South Cheshire, and from all the team, I hope you stay with BBC Radio Stoke for what should be an exciting season - whoever you support.
