In partnership with 6Music, BBC Electric Proms commissioned two New Music Shorts in 2009, by rising directors Ninian Doff and Keith McCarthy. Filmmakers were asked to submit creative ideas for short films inspired by two new tracks from Metronomy and Florence and the Machine. Selected from over 225 entries, these two directors worked with producers at Colonel Blimp and received production budgets of £5,000 to make their films.

You can watch this year's New Music Shorts below now. The films will also be shown on BBC Red Button from 17 to 20 October and will receive their big screen premiere Thursday 22 October at the Roundhouse, alongside performances by Metronomy and Florence and the Machine.
