"Caroline Hanley's an international relations specialist," says Genevieve of her character.
"She advises and gives analysis to clients within the US Government and the British Embassy, as well as corporations.
"In the scheme of things, she's a very independent woman who's personally connected to many of the other characters, such as the British Ambassador, Mark Brydon, and his aide, Nicholas Brocklehurst.
"What I love most about Caroline is that she's marvellously human - a flawed, fallible, brilliant, questioning woman. She's very three-dimensional and textured - and was a joy to play.
"It's very rare, when you read something, to keep having sharp intakes of breath. But when I was poring over Lizzie Mickery and Daniel Percival's script, I often gasped out loud.
"It's written in such an intricate way, and parallel strands keep colliding and interconnecting. All the characters are wonderfully complex, and there are so many contradictions within each of them. That makes them immensely credible."
Genevieve has previously appeared in Hollywood blockbusters Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions.
