One Night of Shakespeare - Plays

ONE NIGHT OF SHAKESPEARE - THE PLAYS

Twelfth Night

One of Shakespeare's lightest and most amusing plays full of mistaken identity and romantic love.

A great love triangle begins with Duke of Illyria, Orsino, who is deeply in love with Olivia - though she doesn't love him. Viola enters the scene after her ship is wrecked off the Illyria coastline, apparently killing her twin brother. In an attempt to get work with the Duke, Viola pretends to be a man called Cesario.

Viola, as Cesario, is given the task of making Olivia fall in love with the Duke, but Olivia's falls in love with Cesario instead. To make matters worst Viola herself has now fallen in love with Orsino, but he thinks she is a man!

Add Viola's twin brother to the mix, who isn't dead after all, and things get even more complicated. As with all great comedy everything ends happily with marriages galore.
