Having been a rebel in her youth, Lily reinvented herself through hard work and has now found success as a GP, police surgeon and forensic archaeologist. Although academically talented, she finds interacting with people difficult - she doesn't trust herself and so refuses to trust others.
Lily's dedication to her work borders on the obsessive and as a doctor she does everything by the book, but this loyalty has led her to become satisfied with a lonely life of predictability. But Lily nurses a secret hope that she will one day find someone to love her just the way she is.
