It failed to capture any of the obvious tension, the dramatic personalities, the greed, or the probable double crosses. Apparently penned by a writer of long standing, the script could easily have been pilfered from a failed GCSE exam. Awful dialogue with even worse continuity.

The finished product seemed to express the worst of 'dumbing down' on TV. In fact I would go so far as to say that with a budget almost in treble figures, a couple of mates and a video recorder, I could have produced something much more worthwhile.

Jared Harris carried the programme - but only just. Too many 'meaningful' looks and silly grins overshadowed an actor capable of much more depth. The few times he came into his own were the scenes of his incarceration and despair. Robert Bathurst portrayed a Mark Thatcher that failed to capture any of the characteristics that ooze out of him. The remaining characters just failed to flesh out at all.

But at the end of the day, if the actors have a bad script to work from then that's the end of the work, and it was a pretty bad script."
