I don't see what's wrong with a skate park, it's like complaining about having a football field. Would they rather have skating in the street? Where else are they gonna go to express themselves if skating is what they love doing? It's just an older generation not seeing past 'vandalism' stereotypes. How is doing tricks on a piece of wood 'disturbing the peace'. You might as well ban kids/teenagers!

shaun
everyone was young once and im sure everyone has a hobby but all the residents dont see it that way

howard
very sad to hear your news. I totally agree with your last comment. It seems all those that want to close the park have forgotten they were once young.

bob
keep fighting man dont let them push u over dartmouths just the same.

Liked the video. Keep figthing never give up. I can't see what the problem is, but having grown up in a similar place in Devon I know what it's like. Sounds as if you've been doing it all right, but keep lobbying the council, give yr MP a kick up the backside. They have to listen in the end you live there as well. Maybe you could have a mass protest in the centre??? get as many skaters there as possible and get the local paper/TV along. I'm sure they'd love the story.

brad
im sure there are worse ways to disturb the peace than skateboarding...

aj
jamie keep fighting dont give up play by the book tick there boxes on bits of paper. But never go quietly.

Hi there, I think your video is really cool and raises many issues that skaters are facing throughout the country!!! I am currently doing research for my 4th year project on skaters in Edinburgh. Im looking at the public spaces where they skate and assess the daily encounters and possible disputes which skaters encounter from the public. I am intending to interview skaters around Edinburgh and was wondering if it would be possible to show your video clip during interviews?

Well, what has happened. Has there been a change of heart, or are we still set on the path of destruction. Have we seen a response from the decision makers, or even the 'locals'.

matthew
good film shame about the park what hapend since?

Reply from host: The skatepark is still closed and in limbo. As far as we know it hasn't yet been demolished.

Don't be stupid and keep the SKATEPARK!!!

Matt Webber, Newton Abbot
skateboarding in newton is so rubbish,me and my mate have to go on a train to exeter or teignmouth to skate because we get busted in newton for skating at the criket field car park.

R Telford
Unless the 'old's accomodate the young of this country, they will never have respect. Do not then bleat about bored youth creating trouble.

Its SO dumb that they are shutting it down.
