Annie Symons
Im curious to find out if the Harold Symons mentioned in Bert Symons' comment would have been my Grandfather or related to him.He died in the early 70's and my grandmother whose name was Emmy died in the early 80'sMy family on My fathers side, whose name is David Harold John Symons is from Plymouth. Maybe these names are all coincidental but what a coincidence!

Thanks for your video My Gran Annie Symons lived in 9B teats Hill Flats My uncle was Charlie and Aunt is Emmy Symons My Dad was Harold The Symons Family started life as I am aware in Thistle Park tenaments which were bombed in ww2 Grabddad was Albert (Charlie)he worked at Cattedown wharf and died around 1957 Thanks

I listened to Gordan Sparkes talking about Coxside,and decided to check out the video link.I was born at Coxside in 1949 1 of 11 children,what happy days we had all the stories I couls recall.The people were all like family and everyone looked out for each other.Front doors were left unlocked people trusted each other then.My father used to have an allotment at Coxside with 11 children it was a necessity we used to keep chickens,geese and ducke and we all used to take it in turns to have to feed them,I was very scared of the geese as they used to hiss at you and to this day I have a phobea of birds.Dad used to grow all his own veg,and flowers for my mother.My father was one of the many people who fought to keep the allotments open when they were threatened with closure I believe in the late sixties,and the residents won the day at that time to keep them.We all have our special memories and I am sure that many have enlightened you with them.II would like to say how although we were all poor the people of Coxside have the warmest of hearts and care for each other.Keep up the good work Warmest wishes Mary.
