A true Derbyshire lass, Sally was born in Belper, then moved to Alfreton and attended Mortimer Wilson Comprehensive School.

After her A-Levels she went away to study Drama at Leeds University, harbouring dreams of becoming the next Julie Andrews!

As the original X-Factor wannabe (or was that New Faces in those days!) she moved to the Big Smoke to find fame and fortune in the West End Theatre circuit but somehow ended up donning headphones rather than stage make-up, and has never looked back!

She has now come full circle and is living back in Belper and presenting here on BBC Radio Derby.

Hard to believe now, but Sally always thought sitting in a studio talking into a microphone for a long period of time would be really difficult and that she would easily run out of things to say - but it's safe to say she has perfected the art of talking…… a lot!
