Devon Daley: A touch of Soul

Our Dev loves his music - and loves to share it with us...

Devon Daley

This year marks 30 years of Devon's love affair with music - reviewing, producing and selecting soul in club and radio spheres (sometimes paid sometimes not!).

He's been seen as a DJ in many parts of the world: Palais, Zhivagos (Nottingham); Bluenote and 20th Century clubs, Derby (80s) Progress & Wherehouse clubs in Derby (90s); Parker Mcmillian bar (London) - and Global Room, Pacha, Ibiza; Red Bar, Brooklyn, USA; Jazz Cafe, London and Musikfest, Munich, Germany.

And Devon is proud to have shared his journey with us. He's been a radio producer at BBC Radio 1, 2 & 1Xtra - including such documentaries as 'Soul Train', 'Sexual Healing' and 'Bossa & Beyond' with some well-known presenters:- Trevor Nelson, Mica Paris, Ras Kwame and Giles Peterson.

You may also have seen Devon on TV - 'Midlands Motown' and 'Whats Goin On'. He's had various presentation slots, too - including Solar Radio, Sony Station of the Year 2007 BBC Radio Derby, BBC Radio Nottingham and special projects at BBC Radio Leicester and BBC Radio Lincolnshire.

Devon says: "A Touch Of Soul show will be a blend of the biggest names from five decades of soul including greats like Stevie, Marvin & Aretha; Disco and 80s classics from likes of Luther Vandross, Loose Ends and Maze - and modern soul acts like Corrine Bailey Rae, Amy Winehouse and Justin Timberlake."
