Cloughie's big day

Brian Clough
Former Rams boss Brian Clough is to be given the Freedom of Derby at the weekend.

FACTS

Brian Clough led the Rams from a mid-table place in the Second Division in 1968 to become 1st Division Champions in 1971/72.

Later, he went on to earn a string of honours with Nottingham Forest.

09.30Cloughie will be driven from his home to the Baseball Ground in a vintage Rolls-Royce.
09.45- 10.30Tour of the BBG where Brian helped the club win top honours in the 60s and 70s.
This part of the tour is not open to the public.
10.45Sir Brian arrives at Darley Park Tea Room. Darley Park is where Cloughie used to take his sons to play football.

11.15Depart Darley Park.
11.30Arrive Exeter Street, Derby, for the planting of a mature Oak.

The commemorative plaque by the tree will say it was planted "so his name is not diminished by time but only grows in stature as the years pass."
12.00Arrive at Pride Park Stadium for a Private Lunch, hosted by the Mayor of Derby, Councillor Robin Turner.
13.00Presentation of Freedom of the City of Derby in the Toyota Suite.
13.20Walkabout at Pride Park Stadium.
