Shahid Quayum lives in Littleover, Derby with his three children and even when he's not at home he knows what they're up to. Shahid keeps an eye on his children with secret cameras around the home. His cameras are placed in the living room, in their bedrooms - wherever he wants to see what they're getting up to. | | Guess what's hidden in the perfume box?! |
Shahid explained: "You can disguise them anywhere - behind a clock, inside a birthday card, in a book. Anywhere you like." Shahid's fascination with spy equipment came from a passion for James Bond. Now he uses them to help him resolve arguments when he's not there to see them. He said: "They help me to make a better decision - so I'm not unfair to any of the kids." He also monitors their internet use with the hidden devices "There are a lot of dangers on the internet, adult websites, things like that. Even if the kids are good, pop-ups often lead you these sites" Undercover surveillance may sound extreme but Shahid says he just wants to protect his children from the dangers he sees in his job as a taxi driver. "I've seen a lot of crime - drug abuse, vandalism, theft - all the things that go on in a city. To be honest i'm just being over protective of my children. That's the only reason I monitor my kids". |
